Not a Tbird, but I see a local BC Rich Warlock Platinum for $100. It’s the one with twin Ps. Black gloss with a lot of chips on the sharp edges. Any thoughts on that bass?

I bought a fairly new (comparatively) BC Rich Warlock guitar from a friend for 50 bucks a few years ago, I was surprised at how nice it played, course it stays in my house or wherever, it doesn't sound too bad either although I can't wait to get a good one when I head back this summer.

The pic might make them look smooth, V.
They're not.
Was curious as to the manufacturer.

I won't complain one bit about your basses and what strings are on them.

Just wanna play em. :)

I didn't even notice what strings were on the basses. It was just heaven playing and hanging with V!

They are grounded for years.
For example, the first one: PR-MTJ, 727-2M7(Adv)(F); last registration 2011-11-01

Air Brasil ceased operations in 2012.
VASP ceased operations in 2005 and was declared bankrupt in 2008.
Sad fate for a once great plane. Some of the best commercial flights I took were on 727s. A l-o-o-ng time ago.

If they can't hear you, make sure they can feel you.

Ok, not a Molotov Cocktail then :)

Not quite the same thing. :D

Was just about to pull the trigger on this order. Sadly my wife got laid off and my health insurance is costing me $1500 per month. Thanks Afordable Care Act! More layoffs coming. Greatest economic comeback in history....

Thats a pretty Bird. Who made that one?

so are the ball ends gold, silver, black and gold?

dunlop

I think so. Only noticed the silver one once I strung it up.

Would make sense cause I had a set of
Super brights. On some bass I had and now gone, and these were them.
I took them off because they had lost the brightness I liked so much.

But, as great as these sound,
There was the topic a short while ago that Ken spoke of. Or responded to.
About how rounds sound scooped.
And to me, they do.

I’ll spare you all why I still love flats over rounds.

Well, decided to pickup the Warlock. He delivered it, so really only paid $80 as it would have cost me at least $20 + my time to pick it up. Finish is road worn as he noted in the ad. What is interesting is it says Made in Korea. The swimming pool is coated in carbon paint and the lid is lined with silver tape. Only issue I can see right now is the jack needs fixing or replacing. Jiggle it around and you get some massive static.

If anyone knows how to read BC Rich serial numbers (31121571).

I've played a lot of different rounds in my experimenting, and still the only ones that sound scooped to me are the D'Addario ProSteel.

They were good sized "firecrackers" (not M80s as Nocturnal said), or certain loud straight through mufflers. Not sure they are even made today since the cool sound is a turbo charged weed-eater sound.

Both are still made today, you can get Glasspacks and M-80s (the fireworks too!)

Boom! They were hard to get in Massachusetts when I was a kid but they blew up nice and loud when you found them (illegal in my state), dangerous, you stayed away from them.

When I went to school in CT, we'd just drive up to New Hampshire and buy boatloads of fireworks.

In Washington, it's technically illegal to have them, but you can buy them on the Res, and just not get caught setting 'em off.
