Thunderbird Club

A Devo related question:
Can you still play Mongoloid? I mean, I can play it; I learned it and can execute the song. But is it like Brown Sugar? Just PCed out of existence?
IDK "Mongoloid", but I suspect it depends on how much you GAS(not Gear Acquisition Syndrome)what people think of you. An advantage-perhaps the only one-of being 76 is not giving a ratz@$$ about people's opinions.:smug:

@PillO crossbred a fish and a watermelon. What a weird guy.

Everyone knows I'm a VP fanboy...but it's for good reason. This side of several thousands of pesos (dollars are questionable at this point), VPs are as close to a '60s Thunderbird as you can get. The weakness in my opinion is that they can lack some of the bigness or bottom of the '60s. But amps have knobs and strings with a lot of lows do the trick for me. Boomers are great, Rotos, Dean Markley Blue Steels, EB Cobalt flats also sound really good for my purposes of big, fat and punchy with some clarity but not clank.

If I could not have my '64 and could have only one bass, it would be a VP.

Cranking the pickups high and using EBCFs, I get (just) enough low end. The CP has that in spades regardless of strings, but the VP has some extra magic. Using just the neck pickup, I can get a ridiculously groovy range of tones.

Well you guys that tone of that bass had me inspired, I knew I had to write a song in which to showcase it.

There was a guitar solo in there, but I edited it out so to showcase the bass on its own.
Hope you guys dig it.

 Good stuff.

Yup featureless. Recall that Wanda took pictures of grain elevators because there was nothing else to take pictures of...

The moon has a more interesting landscape than Saskatchewan. When you dog runs away you can still see him going for two days. Mathematically, a pancake has more features than Saskatchewan.
I used to play with a guitarist from Manitoba. He called people from Saskatchewan “Gappers”. Because Saskatchewan is just a big gap between Manitoba and Alberta:D
