Thunderbird Club

Just looked at my new one..built in Indonesia

My CP says Indonesia as well. My 2018 IV says China.

I *think* most of the neck-through Epi 'birds were made in Indonesia.

Some
, like my 2009 Pro 5, were made in China
(maybe, VP & CP are Indonesia, Pro 4 & 5 were China? )

edit: for some reason, I'm thinking the Pro 4/5 stopped production in 2013? Same year the CP started? :cautious:

FYI
For this and any other questions regarding all things "Hipshot" this is the man:

Or call them. They are amazingly well informed and helpful. I have ultralights with mini-clovers on the Flamingo and want to replace the E tuner with an Xtender. I will probably call them to make sure I order the right part even though I already mostly know the right one.

Sunday is the fake out. They are telling you Sunday to make you go out all day Saturday so that they can leave a "missed you" notice and claim a delivery attempt.

They take their operational advice from Col Flagg.

My favorite MASH character.

I had only played the IV this is so much better. Really glad that I ponied up the extra 300 for the Vintage. Did a quick set up and got the action a bit better and it plays great. Love the sound through the Ampeg with a little dirt. No neck dive either which is a pleasant surprise.
OK. Everything good except the last part. You're not s'posed to say that. When people find that out, prices will skyrocket.;)

I lived in Santa Cruz from '81-'90. The Loma Prieta earthquake sent me packing. I miss the live jazz outside of the Cooper House everyday.
the Cooper House is sorely missed…..now called Abbot Square, we play there pretty often…I was in Ben Lomond when Loma Prieta happened….HWY 9 closed, stuck up in the hills for days….no fun but at least we had beer…

Hmmmm. Sounds like you have been hanging out at "The Ballet"...
A reference of which I'm unfamiliar.
Had a gig last night(Thursday). It's been on the books for awhile. One guitarist recently had some minor surgery and can't play for awhile. The other one tested positive Tuesday, so he's out. So, it was the drummer, me, and a guitarist we used to work with maybe 8-10 years ago. We pulled it off 'cos we all know a lotta the same [stuff]. Tonight(Friday), another gig with a different guitarist we occasionally use as a sub(he didn't wanna do last night's gig-long drive/:poop:$)plus a sax man we work with offandon. Should be interesting.:eyebrow:
Thunderbird>Rumble 100 both gigs. PA is my Yamaha mixer>my JBL EON ONE.
(Pic of set up at a different club)Equally crowded tonight.

Went OK tonight-mostly. At least until the sax man's S.O. got loaded and fell on the dance floor. At which point he packed up and left. Luckily(A)she wasn't hurt, and(2), we only had 15 minutes to go.

Love those Ebony VPs! A lot of different strings sound really good on those. The stock round wound strings on mine had a fantastic growl, Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats sounded great as well and I now have Fender 7150’s nickel rounds and am very pleased with them too. Enjoy your new bass. IMHO the VP is the best bang for the buck in new basses under $1000.
