Thunderbird Club

Vintage Original Specification... apparently the Vintage Original Spec (VOS) is Gibson Custom Shop’s passionate tribute to the guitar industry’s golden era. Following the traditional craftsmanship with the aid of modern technology, the Gibson Custom Shop faithfully reproduced the stunning looks, classic performance, and ground-shaking tones of the true vintage Gibson instruments. On this particular I think it has to do with the paint (Nitrocellulose Lacquer VOS [Vintage Patina]) and the 60s pickup placement.

I think all the new T-Birds are painted with nitro lacquer, maybe it's a different formula?

EBCF has purple silk too. Sounds like my wife betting on horses based on jockey silk colors. :)
I had EBCFs on the TBird. The reference to purple silks on the SITs is a nod to the EBCFs. If I start to dislike the SITs, I'll go back. And no one will ever know. Hee-hee.

 tomorrow’s rig….:D

Was I pipe dreaming or did someone here post that they knew a procedure to deactivate pickups on an Epiphone Thunderbird Pro?

I vaguely recall something about that. You'd want to replace the pots as three of them are much too low in value; tyhe balance pot is marginal at 250K, and probably linear or a weird taper[0]. You could wire it standard VTVT fashion or VVT or VBT, the latter two only filling three of the pot holes[1].

[0] I almost typed "tapir". Too many Sword comics lately.
[1] Perhaps can get a road crew to help with the other one.
