It looks the same but it isn't. Small details do make Gibson's version better, notably it can sit lower on the bass.

thanks Andy! sounds pretty badazz…would you be able to recognize if I send a pic? there’s no separate batt compartment and the controls seem to be Volume, Blend, Treble and Bass. all with the exception of the volume have a center detent…Welcome to the Spector club Chucky!! Did you determine what preamp is in it?

I started off with bypassing the active pre, I'll be nice and agree that it was "sterile" at best! Also it came stock with 4 banger PU's which IMHO didn't cover the spread sufficiently for a "V"I do recall that one member did make his Pro into a passive bass by rewiring it completely. He did mention that the pickups were a bit "sterile" after the conversion.

and replaced them with a standard Gibby harness, a Graphtek and sanded off that obnoxious finish on the neck that it felt good and was finally able to clap some Thunder
SO I guess I can't complain but sometimes still do
They are a large national chain, but I think that is where the similarity ends. They call me by my name and we will chat about all kinds of music things from instruments to bands... And we all enjoy a good joke like how long until Petrucci starts wearing an OPP hat? (Kim Mitchell used to wear an OPP hat to cover his skullet) or making fun of Billy SheehanIs L&M like Guitar Center in the US, where all employees address you as either Man, Dude, or Bro?
C'mon... Tell us about the day that music was invented...Ya think? Like they invented music.![]()
GHS Precision Flats also have purple silk.EBCF has purple silk too. Sounds like my wife betting on horses based on jockey silk colors.![]()
so do Chromes iirc…GHS Precision Flats also have purple silk.
My thing is the tone is in the silk since the tone is in the fingers has been beat endlessly.
They are.I think all the new T-Birds are painted with nitro lacquer, maybe it's a different formula?
I guess if you get one of those really cool cats you could say I think your mom was a groupie when I was younger.Ya think? Like they invented music.![]()
Buying spree!
They are.
The neck on the NR gets dirty feeling after a short time playing. Something I only noticed on the Ric that went away. I haven't waxed the bass yet. Didn't know if the lacquer should cure a while longer or not. I don't want to take a Scotch Brite pad to it to "slicken" it up a bit, but would like for it to be more slick and not get as sticky feeling after playing a few songs. It's not bad at all, but noticeable.
I thought that was more of a deep blue? But it's been years since I had a set.so do Chromes iirc…
I do as well. Even the poly finishes on the VPs seem more slick and don't hang onto grime. Maybe it's because it's new and will wear. I need rings and chains as if in Judas Priest and maybe that will help!Mine was good when I first got it, I've always tended to like nitro finishes better than poly and have never experienced that problem.

Who knew girls can make for a "fairly decent" rhythm section. Anyone here any good?
