Thunderbird Club

It is Lars' and James' band and they control the mix; so lots of rhythm guitar and drums. I think part of why their popularity has waned with each album since And Justice For All. They addressed things in part by moving out of their musical comfort zone (only AC/DC can produce the same album 12 times and remain popular). They would be a much better band if they could have healthy relationships.

And don't forget: The most skilled guitar player in Metallica is... The bass player.

I have liked Trujillo's Infectious Grooves work. I think that is where he shines.

Seen that clip before, it really shows Trujillos skill level as a guitarist, shame you can’t even hear his talent as a bass player.

Bet you haven't heard from Peter Cetera either.
Nope. I moved from the Nederland/Caribou Ranch area to San Jose very shortly after the encounter. Witness Relocation Program???

That’s why I’ve never been interested in Metallica. I don’t hear a bass.
Exactly. Their music does absolutely nothing for me.

Excellent point. Hetfield sometimes plays leads. Recording is done with multi tracking. Live shows often have 'ghost-or guest-players. They could cut the "Band" down to just Lars and James(using the Boss OC-3 that lets you program in the lower octave on only the E and A strings)and save 2 salaries.
:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Wait a minute... Is that what White Stripes did??? o_O

Not bad if fixed right. Slimy doesn't work.

I wouldn't mind matching the power tube breakup and compression found in one of my Ampeg heads, but it's way too loud to be usable. My Sanamp VT will allow blending in some distortion, but it just doesn't seem to fit well. But it's been a long time since I tried it and I should devote a little time to seeing if blending a little grit in is a plus for my needs. But, I only use it as my DI, and don't really use/want it coloring the tone of the head to the cab. First world problems!

On my old Peavey head I used to distort one channel a little and blend it with the other for a little texture for Red Barchetta. For SS it wasn't a bad sound.
Or try the EHX Hotwax. It contains the crayon full range OD and the hot tubes mid hump OD. But most important, can blend in clean.

I need a vacation...

I think we have a few folks here in the Vancouver area. Just a heads up, I will be wielding my VP and MIJ 4003 at the Langley Speedway (Campbell Valley) tomorrow for a car show gig 10-2pm
We have car shows here. Want me to get you a gig? :smug:

Do wish it were nearby. Would love to catch fellow Thunderbirders in action.

No. My ex has different psychopathologies...

From interviews etc. I have seen/heard/read, Ozzy seems like a nice guy. I'm sure he would wear very thin on me in very short order (I can only take so much of a bumbling idiot), but he seems to be genuinely nice.

The harpy Sharon on the other hand from all the stories of bad behavoiur on her part make her appear to be quite odious. Stories such as getting Ozzy strung out so that she could control him, pulling the plug on bands during their Ozfest performance(s) because of petty squabbles, ripping off other artists...

Looking at it from a different perspective, living with an alcoholic/druggy for years could turn anyone into a harpy if they won't let go of them, now I don't follow them at all or watch the show but people that are in close contact with people with drug/alcohol problems tend to become very controlling over a period of time and oftentimes end up more sick than the person they are trying to control, trying to control an uncontrollable disease tends to do that to people. It's very easy to seem to be a nice guy when you're loaded (and enabled) all the time but no one can make a person become a drug addict, all you can do is allow it to get worse by enabling them. The basic riddle is why do only about 10% of the people who abuse etoh/drugs become addicted and the rest can stop or moderate?

Sermon over
