Thunderbird Club

It is Lars' and James' band and they control the mix; so lots of rhythm guitar and drums. I think part of why their popularity has waned with each album since And Justice For All. They addressed things in part by moving out of their musical comfort zone (only AC/DC can produce the same album 12 times and remain popular). They would be a much better band if they could have healthy relationships.

And don't forget: The most skilled guitar player in Metallica is... The bass player.

I have liked Trujillo's Infectious Grooves work. I think that is where he shines.

VERY impressive until the blast.

Looking at it from a different perspective, living with an alcoholic/druggy for years could turn anyone into a harpy if they won't let go of them, now I don't follow them at all or watch the show but people that are in close contact with people with drug/alcohol problems tend to become very controlling over a period of time and oftentimes end up more sick than the person they are trying to control, trying to control an uncontrollable disease tends to do that to people. It's very easy to seem to be a nice guy when you're loaded (and enabled) all the time but no one can make a person become a drug addict, all you can do is allow it to get worse by enabling them. The basic riddle is why do only about 10% of the people who abuse etoh/drugs become addicted and the rest can stop or moderate?

Sermon over
Good point. Yet often they become people pleasers in attempts to keep peace and pretend things are normal. There's a lot that goes on and each situation has some commonalities and a few differences. (Came from three addicted GPs and a dad, with all my uncles being professional drinkers as well. Fortunately all the uncles put the bottle down after years of it. Same with me.)

You can't just end the sermon like that! You need a reading from the Heroin Diaries and a benediction from Betty Ford... ;):D

Stress can bring a tendency out of someone, but it has to be there in the first place. You don't "become" a certain way because of someone else.
I suppose there were a lot of reasons Ozzy married her/she married him... People come together for reasons that are sensible, really. In the animal world such co-dependence manifests as advantage for protection and procreation.
But it is always a two-way street in some real way.

That's a risk when using a dirt pedal designed for guitar. A lot will suck out the low end. The key for bass is having a blend knob, to blend in your clean signal. Or use one that's specifically designed for bass. But to each their own.

This is a great overdrive for bass, it's got a 12AX7 tube in it and does not cut bass at all.

I've tried tube preamps and they're all too farty for me. I am absolutely thrilled with my GK 800RB preamp I had Master Effects make me. When I can use it, that is. I mostly play the B-15 these days because it's what's at the practice space. Of course I run my always-on Damnation MBD2 into it.

It becomes a two way street but the addict/alcoholic is almost always the catalyst, but people do attract each other for a reason, people without pathologies themselves will usually leave a situation like that. People that become addicted to people who are addicted often come from homes where it was rampant and have enabling baked into their personality.

This one goes from completely clean all the way to Mel Schacher and even beyond with or without bottom as it's got tone controls on it, it's very well designed but expensive, it's the closest to an overdriven power tube section I've heard in a pedal.

That's great. I'd like to try one out if the opportunity ever presents itself, but my tonal needs are all taken care of.

I would be willing to bet there's some of that in her too though, but I don't know much about their situation, all i know is the public face. I also stopped a long time ago and it is still rampant in my family but people tend to protect the alcoholic/drug addict although they don't think they are doing that, usually they think they're helping. The addict has to face the consequences of their actions or they will never stop as I'm sure you know.
