Thunderbird Club

So, I’ve been having trouble with glare while I’m driving. Some combination of the left eye injury induced glaucoma and the replacement lenses is really knocking me over with the early sun and headlights at the other end of the day, especially in the wet.
Been prescribed yellow tinted driving glasses. So I’ll be rocking the Bono look, at least in the car.

I promise to try to avoid clapping.

Well.
We got some totally unexpected* news tonight. We had a bunch of Thursday nights scheduled at a local(Hobe Sound, FL)restaurant/bar. We're very popular with the semi-regulars at the place, although the owner can be a bit of a [synonym of "jerk"]. We've always been able to get people to stay(and spend money), we aren't too loud, we play(ed) requests.
But.
While most of the rest of North America's playing season is just getting going, south FL's just ended. Snowbirds go bye-bye. This is the second venue that has cancelled gigs 'cos of reduced customers, thus reduced $ to pay for entertainment. Crap!
Oh, well. Loosen up the 67's strings, try to adjust the truss rod a little, maybe take it to the shop to get the bridge/superfluous pup's pot checked.
Nah.

Makes me wish I had an actual skill.

*NOT!

Dang. Sorry to hear that. But again, why’d they go?

We’re getting ready for the Weekend at Chucky’s place. I’m in the shed in a hotel for awhile because I’ve hardly played recently and I don’t want to be embarrassed by everyone else who are all better players than I am.

Here’s the shed for the night:

I’ve brought these for the others to try: ‘21 Pelham Blue NR, ‘11 short scale, and the magical ‘15.

It turns out that intonation is slightly off on the D string on the NR. I forgot to pack my guitar toolbox. The Gibson multi tool that came with the NR to the rescue!

In honour of @RedVee, I’m bringing this.

We’ll post some pics, but I’m thinking some of what happens at Chucky’s will stay at Chucky’s.

i had hoped to come and be worst bassist but can’t make it.
As for the Tullamore Dew, if that’s what I think it is, it’s dangerously, awesomely, smooth.

We have a lotta northern-including Canadian-folks who come down here to get away from cold. Our 'season' is generally Thanksgiving to Memorial Day. Then things slow down(and they weren't that busy or back to 2019 levels). There are lots of locals, but many go on vacation this time of year. It's always been like that, but with gigs not exactly swamping us, each one we lose has an extra level of 'sux' to it.

For a moment, I was thinking FM - Nash the Slash's band. But `74 wouldn't work and then the rest. I liked FM.

I know you know but it was really Cam Hawkins band. Of course Nash was an important member and when he quit I bet they were thinking "who we gonna get to play electric violin and mandolin now?". The amazing Ben Mink to the rescue.

Unique band, the first 4 albums are my favourites.

Yep. No guitars. A very unique sort of rock band.

Really hate to hear that. Where will all the groupies go?

Could/would y'all consider playing for free but get tips and a few drinks? I like playing enough I'd be dumb enough to play for free.

Overlooked power trio of the 70's

I’ve got a couple of their vinyl albums. The Santa Barbara FM station played then. I don’t recall KLOS or KMET in L.A. playing them. Very overlooked. Their Record company didn’t promote.

That really sucks.
