I read a review (out of curiosity) of the T-Bird IV on a different website and forum that said that it wasn't a bass for beginners, women or children. And I thought, wow, machist much? Was disgusted with that moron.

Hmmmm. Triggered much ? A few months ago my wife ( a female if that's permissable to say ) Approached me and asked if they make smaller basses for height challenged people with small hands. I said yes !! There are short scale basses and was stoked she had enthusiasm to play. I think the "Machist" thing to do would have been to force her to play a longscale instrument. Some things take a little thought before casting aspersions.

Quite true. There are many woman playing full size basses. I have small hands but as a beginner while still a child I had a short scale bass. I find no malice in the reviewers words.

One of the greatest things about the interweb is access to information. It's also the worst, since there's no way to verify accuracy.
"It was on the interweb, it must be true!" Yeah. Riiiiight.

I didn't read whoever it was myself, so i can't speak as to whether there was ill-intent or not, but I'm not a fan of folks making generalizations of large groups of people. Growing up in the South, I saw that plenty.
Everyone is different; some need short-scale basses, some just prefer them.
Some are neither of those. Some like large basses, even if others think they shouldn't have them......

When my teenage kid’s band had a gig, I handed my VP to the bass player - who was 17 year old girl. She looked very badass. I did have to raise the strap a bit….She rocked it!

I wanted to try out a new template I made, so I did a pickguard for my VP in parchment. Still looks white until you compare to the original.

Looks better IMO. Good move. Sometimes white can be too brilliant and overshoot the runway. Been thinking of adding a tug bar to my NR. Without it, it just seems to be missing something.

I will say my NR is a stretch to tune the G when strapped on if I don't pull the bass up a little....and I'm 6ft.

Well, I wanted to see if I could hear a difference between the Dano, CP, and IV on the same song with the exact same settings. Not sure if the Zoom B3n makes things sound similar or if they really are...or I am just tone deaf (very likely).

Dano white tapes:

The Dano sounds a bit like my EB-2, which isn't too big a surprise. It has a bottle green sound that is really great. The other two sounded a bit gray and crumbly to me.

I'm not around here much, but honestly it's heck to keep up! And I'm busy a lot...
But, I do have a question about fitting a set of Rotosound SM66 strings into my Epi CP: the Sweetwater site says the SM66 is for med and long scale instruments. Will there be enough winding length for the T-Bird headstock??
