I haven't played through a Hiwatt, so take this for what it is worth. Around here, some of the best values are old solid state heads and combos. They can be absurdly heavy, but plenty loud and good sounding. Peavey is usually still cheap. Acoustic Control have gotten expensive.
That's when the trucker hauling milk picked my ex-gf and me up. His speedometer went to 85 and he would bury it. His partner had a bigger truck and had to hang back; I think he said we were doing about 90 and he was annoyed at going that slow. Every so often the read end of the truck/front of the trailer would start bucking and he'd have to back off a smidge. Craziest ride I can recall thumbing. Great guy, though. Went through Atlanta rather than around it as he'd planned, and got off at the interchange a couple blocks from our house. He bought us a sandwich and soda at a stop for gas and rest room, too.

Unlike gas tankers, milk tanks don't have baffles. Thus, slosh. That would be the 'bucking' you felt.

Just to have a beer we had to hoof it from the public lot up the hill - I was in heels.
When I was playing(not all that well)organ with a coupla bands, I had a pedal that simulated the slow and fast speeds of a Leslie. It even ramped up/down between speeds. Naturally, it died, and new ones cost a helluva lot more and I no longer own an organ*(it died too).
Hmm. That's a large enuff, outside venue, I think I woulda tooken my Rumble 200c and my R100 and daisy chained them...Maybe.
I meant to go back to this earlier. I ain't exackly tall(5'8")and I'm 'blessed'(?)with short-ish, fat-ish fingers, yet I went from a 66 Gibson EB-3 to my 67 NR TBird with a bit of difficulty-initially-but now I can switch almost seamlessly between the TBird and my Epi EB-0, playing equally badly whichever scale length I'm fingering......but not all women are "height challenged" or have small hands
Well, that explains my preference for it.
