Well, it apparently came out two months ago but I only learned about it a moment ago...
It's probably one of the most iconic rock guitars ever, Malcolm Young's 1962 Gretsch Jet Firebird, stripped, hacked up and never far away from its owner's hands when the latter played shows. In fact, only a White Falcon threatened its reign as Young's main stage guitar in the early eighties.
Gretsch has done a couple of Malcolm Young Signature models over the years.
(I really dig this one, it's so minimalist)
The modern day production version, which is more true to the original at a reasonable price.

And the Mac daddy of them all, the custom shop made “Salute” model
So what do the boffins at Gretsch got in store now? What more can they do to the format?
Here's the answer.
They will take it back to how the guitar was when Malcolm got it from his brother George Young from the Easybeats.

To be honest, I think this latest iteration of the Malcolm Young signature model is the RADDEST of them all, it looks so bad ass with the triple pickup lay out, it would be a stellar studio tool.
