On my MM if I turn the master off then crank the volume near max, hit a note on the bass then very slowly turn the master volume up. What you get is SS distortion because of the SS preamp. Not necessarily a sought after thing but useable in some songs. Then do the opposite, turn the volume off, crank the master way way up, hit a note on the bass and very slowly turn the volume knob up just a bit. What you get is Tube distortion (more so if you really dig in on the strings) but not nearly as much as the first way you tried. Be sure to set your amp on half power (about 33 watts) for best results.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Full disclosure, while I was considering a T-bird I found this thread, and you all may have inspired/enabled my initial purchase. Now that I've dipped my toes in the pool, I'm already GAS'ing for the higher models.

I have been interested in the DRoc, but most of them look ok, but the neck feels like an afterthought and just chucked on at the last minute…


Yours looks super shaging awesome and like the whole thing was planned from conception to be awesome as shag…
