Thunderbird Club

At the risk of provoking a mod and more motorcycle discussions :p... an off topic message about stupid cyber criminals. I got an email from Experian this evening that BofA made a hard credit inquiry on me today. I don't do business with BofA, so that was a tip off. I called their fraud department and was told someone ordered a $19k credit line Visa card and was approved. OK, but they used my address as the ship to address for the card. I verified that the card numbers etc. were not given out and the thief would have to receive the card before they were able to use it. So, how did they think they were going to steal from me? Dumb arse...
We've gotten calls from "Amazon" (many times and wont' stop till you talk to them and tell them karma is going to bite them in a bad place for all this lying to people). Saying someone is trying to buy a iPhone and they need to make sure it's legit.

Typically, but with an amp with power tubes they too add some magic when driven. At loud volumes they begin to break up and compress the sound and wonders begin to happen. Better sounding to me than driving the pre hard. This is in part why to many/most SVTs typically sound better loud. Ampeg SVT example, many run the master all the way and the gain (pre) to adjust levels.
Wow, gave it a try and you can get some nasty dirt on the pre-amp and something different driving the tubes.

Sometimes when I get what I suspect is a junk call I answer it LAPD Sargent North speaking, would you like to report a crime? Usually met with a delay and a click. Rarely get a call back from that number.
Note - I never use the word police or actually say anything about being a police officer, since I’m not and that would be illegal.

You have to amit that video is funny in a karma’s a biatch sort of way.

Yes, but it's simply a topic to avoid (anything gun related) Guns are always going to be a controversial topic and such is not allowed.

I just play a voice clip of the exorcist next to the microphone of the phone. Rarely get a call back from the same number.

We’re all big boys and girls here and I’m sure we could handle the conversation, but rules is rules and we should abide by them out of respect for all club members that enjoy discussing Tbirds and related stuff in this thread.

Thanks Kara. I like it as well--since there was nothing gold on the bass other than those knobs. Well, the Epi TRC. Maybe I'll ask Irv for a Silver Epi one day. Right now others buys are higher on the list. (New pickguard for my black Pbass which have gotten really yellow, and not in a good aged way.)

I got them here:
Silver Imperial Top Hat Bell Reflector 2 Volume 2 Tone Knobs Set for USA Gibson Les Paul SG Electric Guitar | Reverb

I ordered a set from them and they arrived today. Planning to install on my ebony VP. Does anyone make an EPI TRC with silver logo that fits the VP?

They are very nice. I prefer the D-bird shape, but they are hard to find.

YEAH…but Gibson sued them right after the D-ROC 5 won “Best Bass” at NAMM a couple years ago, so they changed the body shape. I think, had Dingwall fought it in court, they likely may have won. Very hard to mistake a Dingwall for a Gibson TBird. But I DO also have some pre-lawsuit D-Birds. They made almost NO 5-strings. My White one is one of the two from the NAMM Show that caused the lawsuit.

For Who Asked For the Specs on my Custom Green 4-string…..
Price: NOT CHEAP, OVER $4k….Currently over 2-year wait time for a custom D-ROC order.
Body: Hand selected Fiji Mahogany
(Standard spec is Khaya. I also requested “LESS THAN 8.5 lbs.!!)
Finish: Golden Sage to Ice Blue Colorshift finish
(Custom color….I like Greens and this is sort of s flip-flop Green)
Pickups: 3 x FDV with Passive electronics and standard 3X Rotary
(Standard electronics have a 4x switching and sound modern/scooped. My custom 3x switching are meant to sound like a Musicman, a Jazz and a PBass on the settings….cuz I already have one with the modern/scooped electronics)
Neck: Maple
(Standard is maple or optional Wenge)
Fingerboard: Maple with Maple headstock & Body color on side edges/Green logo; Green Pearloid position markers and Green Luminlay side dots.
(Standard is Wenge fingerboard and matching dark headstock, white pearl elipse dots and non-glow side dots)
Custom Drop D Low E tuner; requested MAPLE pickguard UNATTACHED….so I could decide if I liked it. Wenge is normal spec pickguard.
Dingwall custom case, tools and accessories

Gotta say…I am always afraid of doing a custom order but Dingwall NAILED IT…GOT IT PERFECT TO MY SPEC. Plays and sounds great.

I have to admit, when not busy I will jack them around and waste their time.
