I'm a tidy Queen, put the unused screws back into the bass - I would have lost them quickly other wise!
I probably lost the screws immediately. Even if it took longer, I don't know where those screws are now. It's not like the original tuners will ever go back on the Flamingo anyway.

Thx Chuck, the 4 strings run in the 8.5 pound category, and my 5 string runs about 9.25 pounds. The holoflash is a love it or hate it look, but they were also made in trans black over quilted maple.
was asking because it sure feels like my 5 string Spector weighs way more than 9.25 lbs…..prolly the wood selection? love the holoflash!..

That fact doesn't shock me one bit. Thus my snarking driving while typing comment as a major cause. It's scary to sit at a red light and watch how many people have their phone up in their face looking at the screen or navigating parking lots. Most are horrible drivers in the first place and with giving them a phone you would be more safe with a 12 yr old driving. At least they would have some fear help make them careful.
Only one aspect.

Many years ago when I got my driver's license, the road test was about 25 minutes (appointments booked on the hour and half hour). When I lived in California, I had to do a road test for a Ca lic. and it was once around the block - about 5 minutes. I asked why I was getting off easy and was told that that is the standard road test everyone gets. More recently, inquiring about the Ontario test, it too is about 5 minutes. So lower the standards and you get worse drivers; who could have predicted that??

Anyone try one of the Ampeg Rocket combos? There was one at church that the Burmese group uses and I thought I would give it a try. I was impressed how it sounded. It was a 15 inch speaker so it had a decent big sound to it. When I tried the distortion, I was pleased that it actually sounded pretty decent. Something I could even use in church because it didn't end up sounding like some kind of chainsaw gone wild (Lemmy). I like my head and 410 cab much better, but I would definitely not mind using that small combo if need be. I was pleasantly surprised. Nice and light as well. Would certainly be on my list if I were looking for a combo.

Best Peg Rocket amps are the older ones.
The B100R and 200R.

I'm guessing my test was about 20 minutes and with a State Trooper. That short of a test (5 min) is not a test, but a greeting. I think I scored around 97 98 on both the written and physical test, and understand the threshold is so low now if you look at half the book and guess with some common sense you'll pass just fine.

Bought my wife the RB 110 50 watt to go with a Mustang PJ for her birthday.
Sounds good . Perfect first amp. Good sound, good looks , easily portable. Bigger sound than a practice amp and a decent price.

IIRC (and @Chucky Stiletti may know much better than I) the Ampeg Scrambler circuit is different from other O/D circuits in that it is neither a tube screamer type soft clipper nor a rat style hard clipper. As I recall, it does some strange asymmetric clipping. Different from any other circuit I had seen when I went looking.

?….
I'm finally getting around to dealing with the Camaro. I just talked to a guy who does that kind of work, since the likelihood that I'll ever get it done is about zero. I'm guessing it will be a roughly year long project, what with down time and waiting for parts and all that. The shop does a number of cars, so it's not like they would be working on it for a year.
Cool, say more about the Camaro!
Year, engine, tranny, color, planned mods or rotisserie restoration?

Yikes! Glad the Salinas Rodeo was a couple of weeks ago, it would have been brutal at that temp.

The holoflash is fun under stage lights.
IIRC you have one of the older CRFM Spectors. Those older 5 strings can be heavy, so something in the high 9 pounds range wouldn’t surprise me too much. Might be pure coincidence, but every single heavy bass I’ve owned had a sound to die for, not the case with some of my light weights.

I have a 112 combo that's not too bad. Even thought is using it one week just for the heck of it. It's a great keyboard amp.
