Beat you to it

Sometimes, that's what I think when I see videos from people like Ellen, or Ale Villarreal when she was that age, and other young people that are better than I'll ever be......:(

Other times I think....maybe if I just learn more, practice more....:bassist:

Practice makes better, right?

So they say...and if I ever meet they, I will have some choice words for them.

The kids have the time and focus. They don't have to worry about keeping food on the table, a roof over their heads, saving for the future, getting to work on time...

Yes!

.....and when they’re stuck at home, with no school because covid, but still have lots of energy to burn....

lack of both energy and focus (a bit of ADD helps to keep most everything in various stages of "work in progress" :meh: ) are the main things I struggle with when it comes to lessons/practice.

And as you mentioned, that whole job situation - taking up most of my time and all my energy :rollno:
Just so I can live indoors & buy food and such.....

Goes to show what kids are really capable of, if given the proper support, and not just written off as "just a kid".
Iirc, Ellen's been playing for less than 2 years......
:woot:2 years?!!! Now I’m really depressed!

:(Whatcha gonna tell me next, she was a quadriplegic up until last week?

:crying:She already plays better than I do, and judging from her current talent level at less than two years of playing it’s highly probable she surpassed me over a year ago - in other words - after she’d only been playing the bass for a few months.

Well, at least I’m sure I could drink her under the table, for whatever thats worth.

She can't drive and doesn't have a cool car. Feel better now?

New tranny mounts, throw out shaft bushings & throw out bearing. (Also clutch/pressure plate) I’m hoping to get the engine back in today.
