Could be your amp is turned down around the A strings resonant hz. Big issue with Some basses and amps for pro mixers. Or the bass hz is turned up around 70 where the e string is. It’s one of the reasons why DI will be chosen over an amp for records.
That way the mixing engineer can correct this phenomena

Or you need a differnt string Guage.

The E string on my EB3 did that but thankfully it has adjustable pole pieces. I also went up one size in string guage and had the nut cut to fit. Issue solved.

Just have to say "Love", "Electric" and "Sonic Temple" are some of the very best Hard Rock albums for me, The Cult just nailed a vibe with them.

Love B.O.C too, saw them at least five times, starting around "Secret Treaties", which again is a personal fave.

Who could write lyrics like these...........





They were really good live too, "Buck" Dharma is a great, virtually unknown guitarist.

Also found the bridge on the hipshot ebay store, the have blemishes that they sell. Got the ultralights with the mini clover there too for a good price. I know, its gold. I like it lol. All were drop in, neck dive cured (it wasnt much to begin with). Liking the roundwounds on it still, but man flats are calling me again.

I don’t have that issue with my ‘21. FWIW, I did not like the stock strings at all and immediately switched to stainless rounds. I love my ‘21.

That whole album is great. Their best IMO too.

That clip rings a bell. Yes, I guess I have heard The Cult, but never really followed their songs. I kinda checked out in 1980’s when I was ending a bad marriage with a good divorce and starting a new life.

If it were here in the states I’d be all over it. Just not keen on paying $250 to ship a $300 bass, dealing with customs and all the risks associated with an overseas purchase just to get a bass that I can readily get for $600 or less here in the states.

I agree with one of the other posters, a string change will help rule out a possible bad string. If it still has the same problem after that, try soloing each pickup individually to see if the problem only exists with one pickup. I don’t recall the pickup design on the 2021 NR but if under the metal cover it’s pole pieces (like the 2015 or the new Rex Bird) then you could have a bad pole on the A string. It would be incredibly rare to have the same pole go wonky on both pickups, so soloing each pup should tell you a lot. If none of that works then set your amp completely flat across the board, don’t boost or cut any frequencies and see if the problem is still there.
