Thunderbird Club

She was not melting in water; she was dissolving.

Terrible that Hollywood can't get chemistry right. Takes me right out of the moment. ;)
Water can be a solvent.
Exactly my point. She wasn't melting, she was dissolving.

Is there anything that Hollywood can get right??

** Obligatory chemistry joke - you know what they say; if you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the precipitate...

That's an understatement! We used to live in the mountains 25 miles outside of Boulder Colorado bordering on the Roosevelt National Forest. Apparently, at the time we lived there it was one of the locations in the US where "problem" bears from Yellowstone were relocated to. These are bears that had become accustomed to scavenging food from trash cans and camp sites and weren't afraid of people. On more than one occasion we had to call a local game warden to come in and take care of a grizzly that was overly aggressive.
I am unconvinced by relocation of "problem" bears. Unless you can get the bear thousands of miles from civilization, it will again come into contact people. And moving a bear that far could be problematic as it will be in an unfamiliar range, possibly/probably with different flora and fauna. The bear's new life may be sufficiently difficult that you are sentencing it to a slow death by starvation. It may in fact be more humane to euthanize the "problem" bears.

Noticed some of the gunk on the top of the Sixty Five is candle wax. Since this came from a Catholic church, if something happens to me as a result of stripping the wax and summarily discarding it, you'll know why.
You did what with the wax? Wax removal always results in personal pain.
Maybe that was another kind of wax removal I heard about. Anyway, please sent that head so I can use it in the house of the Lord and maybe you will be spared.

The Forest Service will attempt to relocate a bear as a last resort. Studies have shown relocation to be ineffective more than 80% of the time. The relocated bear either ends up injured in an altercation with another bear in the new location and dies a painful death or it journeys back to the original area where it ends up weak, desperate and is such a "problem" that it has to be euthanized.

We chose to invade their habitat and need to learn to live with them and keep them in their natural state by not attracting them to easy sources of food and water. There are a lot of stupid people who ignore their responsibility of learning the correct way to coexist with them. Where we are, it's a minority of people who are the problem.

This year we've lost three bears that were hit by cars. All three instances were hit and runs.

I was thinking a tattoo of two crossed Thunderbirds with a Sacred Heart in the middle. Think that will work against bad juju?

A little confirmation so I don't pancake the tubes. There are two metal bands on top of the Sixty Five. I assume they support the electronics hanging from the top of the case. If so, I'll clean them in place and not try to remove them.

No smart arse questions about how I got two metal bands to stand on such a small amp.

…sad but true. Might have been better to not try to create a "wild animal attraction park" in the middle of a predator population.

Good plan. Just tape off the tolex and clean away.

People feed gators(illegal)then wonder why the gators come up onto lawns.
