Anyone here ever try 'jumpering' a 2 channel valve head? Jumpering gave good results with locally built AC30s (for guitar) back in the day but not sure I've ever seen anyone doing it with bass. I've seen a pup run into each channel in a pseudo-stereo configuration but that's not quite the same.
Jim Lea and his EB were just one more reason I love Gibson basses![]()
That's channel changing - done plenty of that as well. By jumpering I mean (on an amp with 2 inputs per channel) a patch cable from the second input of channel 1 to the the first input of channel 2.
@Gaolee
I am not sure if I understood you here, with regards to your guitarist using wireless or instrument cable? If he uses cable, suggest that he buys something with one of these G & H silent tips. It allows you to plug in/unplug cable without the noise. Lava cables come with them (but theirs are crazy expensive).Invalid Link Removed
I have a couple of Lavas with these and they work pretty well.
Is that a multicoloured (or mulicolored for those who prefer) or an opalescent finishReady for a New Years jam session with my party Bird...

I use these on my homemade cables, whenever I use a cable:

Otherwise, when I'm going wireless I have both wireless unit running into this Behringer BTR2000 Racktuner, which has two footpedals connected - One for changing inputs, the other for muting while switching instruments or tuning:

Works great, and you can plug a lead into the front of it, if the wireless breaks down...![]()
OI! Careful with the Gary Glitter references, effin raging pervert he is!!
He was never cool, he was grim lookin, looked like he'd had a go with a rabid porcupine, his band were good though
Yep! Pretty much nailed his look there...
They made some pretty cool stuff back then, and looked great with the two drummers - Something Adam & The Ants made good use off later on.
Btw, The Glitter Band is still touring....
I assume Gary is still touring.... jail cells?![]()
None at all taken, all good funMy apologies Colin, remembered his pedo crimes after posting. Certainly no offense intended for my TBird brother!![]()
In till 2029 which I hope he lives until the day before his release before dying in prisonI assume Gary is still touring.... jail cells?![]()
Are epi bolt ons eligible here? I joined a soad tribute, lost the love for my odd man out bass, sr500, and jumped at the opportunity to trade it for a Gothic and $100 including a bag and strap. It was a wrestle to set it up for drop C, but I was able to do it by adding a lot of neck relief, and tilting the bridge back to put tension on the saddles. I also had to crimp the ends of the .115 string to get it to fit in the bridge.
It has the look I need, and the sound is not bad either, though I may upgrade the pickups eventually. If the band starts getting the higher pay gigs, I might get a "real one". I am pretty happy with this one though, the black satin finish on the back of the neck is really nice.
I would be curious to date it. It is Korean made and the serial number starts with letter I . it does not feel nearly as cheap as I expected either.
You too, I'll be home all night on sentry duty looking after my mum but I'll be enjoying myself watching Jools Hollands Hootananny which has Seasick Steve on again this yearIn case I don't get back on TB today. Wishing all you TBird brothers and sisters a very Happy New Year! May [Pelham Blue] the [Pelham Blue] new [Pelham Blue] year [Pelham Blue] bring [Pelham Blue] you [Pelham Blue] that [Pelham Blue] new [Pelham Blue] TBird [PELHAM BLUE!!!!] you've been GAS'ing for!If you have a gig tonight, have a great gig, if you're just partying or chilling, enjoy, above all else, have a SAFE one!
