Thunderbird Club

In case I don't get back on TB today. Wishing all you TBird brothers and sisters a very Happy New Year! May [Pelham Blue] the [Pelham Blue] new [Pelham Blue] year [Pelham Blue] bring [Pelham Blue] you [Pelham Blue] that [Pelham Blue] new [Pelham Blue] TBird [PELHAM BLUE!!!!] you've been GAS'ing for! :) If you have a gig tonight, have a great gig, if you're just partying or chilling, enjoy, above all else, have a SAFE one!

Same to you brother!

...And I already have a Pelham Blue... ;)

OK, blues are not just for 7enders...my lil t-bird jr can play the blues too...

It looks like both Thunder and Fire Birds from what little I could see backing the singer. That's great. And for what it's worth, I always thought blues played on a Bumper was not quite right anyway.

Is that a multicoloured (or mulicolored for those who prefer) or an opalescent finish
It's a Holographic finish with a black burst edge. Which means when no light is shining on the bass it looks black, but as soon as it's hit by a light source it reflects a rainbow of colors. The cool part is that the colors change depending on what angle you view it from and the angle of the light. So if you're moving around stage or if lights hit you from different angles or audience members change their viewing angle the bass color is constantly changing, It basically puts on its own light show. I get more comments on the looks of this bass than any bass I own. Here's a couple of pics from different angles, note the color shift...

On a side note the bass did cause a bit of a dust up once between two very inebriated girls, one of whom swore the bass was green and the other calling her an idiot because it was clearly blue and red. They were viewing it from about five feet apart on the dance floor. I calmed them down by telling them it was a mood bass and that the color would look different to each person depending on their mood. Drunk people can be pretty gullible.

I missed that post this morning, you're right I think, two birds. They don't really have the right image for blues but they do sound the part; I do like Firebirds, just cool all round

Very nice idea, so the holographic image is transparent? If so it could look amazing over any finish, imagine how many fights it could cause over a sunburst.

Drunk people are so gullible, trouble is most of the drunks I know still believe it in the morning and I end up with a shyte load of explaining to do

So glad I have that part of my life up. The drinking, not the playing in bars.

Lots of people seem to like the new Fender Rumbles. I grabbed a Rumble 75 when my Carvin Pro Bass 10 started having malfunctions. The Rumble is exceedingly just OK. Tends toward being trebley and isn't very punchy. Course, comparing it to my gig rig probably isn't fair, but I love thst stack and don't really care much about the Rumble.

The gig rig is two Hartke 410 cabs and an Ampeg SVT-3 Pro.
