I wanted to try these suckers, they are from the area some of my ancestors came from “Ville Noire” (yes it means Black Town) in Mahebourg Mu.
Cassava flour is gluten and nut free. which attracts as well. This company started making these in WW1 as they couldn’t get imports of flour. Unfortunately they don’t export. I tried a local Indian/Mauritian/Fijian/African grocery store but nothing similar. I guess I’ll have to buy some cassava flour and bribe my daughter to make a batch.

Give Macallan 12 year a try sometime. I like it neat with some sparkling water on the side - Some folks add a few drops of water to it. It's really a good Single malt without being expensive, perfect to have a little on an Autumn evening after dinner.

They only had 750 ml bottles of Macallan at the local booze emporium. Being on a budget, I settled on a 375ml bottle of Glen Livet 12.

Japan makes some incredible whiskies, sometimes beating Scotland's in competitions.

This is the shift pattern on my 67 international 1200b. Switching between this and a normal 5 speed can have its moments. No too bad though. Things happen pretty slow in an old binder. But forget about anyone else driving it.

Tasmania (Aust) has some fine “Scotches” as well.
Lark and Sullivan’s Cove being just two of them.

Yes, Volkswagen is still doing that with their 5 and 6 speeds . The trick is , it has a lockout, you have to push down on the stick to get it into reverse. Can't loan that one out either without instructions or I get a call asking "where's reverse?"

Yeah, my J car 5 speed had a pull up on the stick collar to get past the thingy and into R. I liked except explaining it to someone borrowing / moving the car.

I saw/heard Wishbone Ash in KC/MO on April 14th '73. The image of MT's Thunderbird was pivotal for me. That and having Mott the Hopples 1st LP from '69 - (primarily buying it because I was a big fan of M.C. Esher) and the pic of OW from the All the Young Dudes LP and his white T-bird. For me, they influenced me more than Entwistle. I bought my '63 II in late '74. (stollen 4 years later)

I saw Wishbone Ash in 1973 as well! It was certainly life changing, I still have my ticket! While I never got to see Mott The Hoople live I sure played the hell out of Mott The Hoople Live. Along with those two and Entwistle they put me in the Thunderbird camp.

There are a number of distilleries near Bardstown (My Old Kentucky Home fame and about 45 minutes from the house), Beam being one of them. I saw a program a couple years ago about I massive fire at Beam. The story was about how some of the other distillers helped out in various ways. It was nice to see competitors putting that aside and working together to help the largest distillery in that area. I think it's the largest. Baker's is from Beam I believe.
