Thunderbird Club

I realize it being a movie it's exaggerated... but I'll never 'get' ice-hockey.
Did someone order up a cross check?

What are your dream/favorite guitars (Not basses)? Anyone here has had/has a Firebird? My dream guitar is Brian May's Red Special.

My brother had Firebird for about a year. Good instrument, just nothing special about it.
My dream guitar is a blonde Gibson SJ-200 and stumbled upon one last summer. All what my dream was about.

When I was 15 (1979) I bought a 1966 Gibson NR Firebird, triple pickup, and a stop bridge/tailpiece for $500. The model Gatemouth Brown plays. The finish was nearly a mosaic because of all the fine crack lines. I didn't appreciate what I had. I sold it to fund a brand new 1980 Les Paul Deluxe. I regret that decision. It has led to my current behavior of hoarding basses.

I sold it to Gordy Matthews who later went on to be the guitarist for The Reclines, aka K.D. Lang & The Reclines. I didn't even make any money on the deal, I only had it for less than a year and sold it for what I paid.

Below's a similar pic of a mint survivor example from Reverb. Mine had huge patina. And as I said a one-piece tailpiece/bridge that had non-adjustable saddles molded into the top, so no intonation adjustments.

EDIT: Actually upon closer examination the "bridge" on this example looks to be the one-piece stop tailpiece I described. Mine never had the tremolo bar.

Not being a guitar player, I don't 'dream' about guitars but as much as I like many of the "famous" brands/models - for looks/visual aesthetics, I'm usually drawn to the more obscure 6 & 12 stringers -
