Thunderbird Club

I had an early 80's 4001 just like that, just one of the many stupid sales I've done over the years.
this was a 74 my mom bought for me when my 72 P (that i purchased for 250 bucks with my lunch money) was stolen from a locked school locker….at least you got money for yours, I got beer for mine but it was the fact that it came from my mom that hurt in later years….oh well….

Who stole your p bass? Did you ever found out?

Yeah, but I wouldn't want to make a hole in a bass just for that.
If you’re connected to the amp by instrument cable you could just use a switched cable. That’s what I do and it mutes perfectly at the push of a button. No bass mod required, works with every bass you have, no pedals required. Just make sure you get the latching switch vs a momentary switch.

I use my tuner, but those PW cables are handy. The downside is I've never had any Planet Waves cable last more than a few years with light use.

I have a cheaper version of these, this would be great as well.

I was originally just kind of commenting on the Nikki Sixx bass that has no controls besides an off/on switch saying that that would drive me nuts but I wouldn't mind having one with volume and tone controls.

The previous owner modified my BlackBird to Vol-Vol instead of the original Killswitch only setup. I modified it to be Vol-Vol-Kill because I like having the killswitch on some of my basses.

Please enjoy some terrible pictures.

I play through Rumble amps. The OD circuit turned all the way down acts as a "MUTE" function that can be controlled with a footswitch. I never use OD, so that works for my purposes. However, I always run my neck pup full(and never use the superfluous pup), so I just zero the volume on breaks.
