Thunderbird Club

AMS sells cheap, I bought a jetglo Ric 4003S a few years ago brand new for 1500 bucks. It makes me wonder why actually.
Yes they do ( or did ). I bought two Gibson Electric Guitars from them on closeout. Both Limited Runs , one an SG and one LP Jr and both $800 each new in box. Unless I thrash them they'll always be worth more than I purchased them for.

I guess Lemmy never copywrote that name.

You generally can't copyright a name. You can trademark it, but only as an adjective for a specific purpose. For instance, Kleenex brand tissues. Toys-R-Us parent company used to (may still) pretend they owned the rights to -R-Us and would threaten small businesses that had names that ended in -R-Us or close to that. They came after me for Roadkills-R-Us (a gag (sic) site) and got their butts kicked after the story went national (I contacted a local newspaper who did a spread on it, several other papers & a radio show interviewed me, the AP picked it up, and it made CNN Headline news). The public response was 100:1 on my side - and while there was no guarantee how a judge would have ruled had it gone to court, the odds were in my favor. They gave up.

A few years later someone contacted me about a real business site that was being threatened[1]. I advised him to consult a lawyer but told him all I knew. He was in NJ (as were they) and let them take him to court - just him, no lawyer. The judge threw Geoffrey's girasse right out the door.

It's all documented (and mocked) on www.rru.com - an ancient website that desperately needs a makeover, except I don't care. It is what it is.

[1] This actually used to happen a lot, but most mom and/or pop shops weren't willing to chance it.

The previous owner modified my BlackBird to Vol-Vol instead of the original Killswitch only setup. I modified it to be Vol-Vol-Kill because I like having the killswitch on some of my basses.

Please enjoy some terrible pictures.

Plays beyond fantastic, dare I say, even better than butter.

Kingface's are '79s. Not sure how I remember that. I can't even remember what I did yesterday. Or did you mean Bicentennials?

76 or Bicentennials, not really splitting the hairs here.

I like a kill-switch also - a very handy option.

Yes to the tuner. I have Whirlwind cables that are going on 20 years and still work perfectly. One died on me and they replaced it no questions asked.
I've mentioned before that my favorite cable ever was a Whirlwind that was half coiled (which I kept at the head). Used it for years. I think it ended up in a box with our PA cables decades ago. But likely still works, wherever it is!
