Thunderbird Club

Exactly... And fenders are also those elongated rubber thingies that you have hanging on the side of your boat, to prevent it from being all thrashed up, when tied to a pier...

You beat me to it, Michael. And boat fenders are also called bumpers, at least here in Michigan.

Just thought I'd point this out, cars haven't had four fenders in a very very long time. Now it's two fenders in the front and two quarter panels in the rear.

Yeah for both of you guys, beat me to it, and I live on a boat hanging 4 bumpers. Also heard them called fenders, and the little plastic clips that hold them to the rail, are called fender tenders!

Right there with ya brother! And unless your car is electric, it doesn't have a motor, it has an engine! And magically, if you remove that engine from your car and install it in a boat it's called a motor! When we start talkin Hooker, Holley, Thrush, Eldebrock, Dana and Muncie I'm all ears.

Completely inappropriate and I apologize

Bumper urine bass. Accept no substitute.

The 70s just called, fender is recalling all jazz basses for re decal'ng , new decals say 7ender funk/punk/prog/rock/metal bass. Jack excluded, for actually playing jazz on a jazz bass. Viva Gedmeister!

My jazz basses = cold dead fingers, as in you will get them if you pry them from mine.

Ironically most of my 7enders except my #1 Jazz have been temporarily retired to storage with my Warwicks. That includes the urine from my avatar. (Get it, P bass, Pee bass) this is not because I don't like them, but to protect them because I live on a boat and can only have so many basses out. I am playing 2 inexpensive 90's vintage peaveys in a band I normally would play fenders, and my goth bird and olp mm2 in soad tribute. Yes I would like another bird eventually, but I am not converting or selling off my fenders and Warwicks (3 of each) to have a flock of birds, or rooms full of 30+ peavey basses, or every permutation of blue SX fender clones.

I have to have SOME diversity. And I get paid to use that bird. Don't get me wrong, I like it and am coming around, but will not join the "everything but a bird/Gibson is crap" bandwagon, just like I won't join the "fender only" or "Warwick only" bandwagons. Multiple clubs, equal opportunity is the way for me. Right now I am rocking the budget basses, especially when I am doing double duty and need to bring 4 basses.

I am not a brand loyalist at all. I have Thunderbirds by several different builders and love the thing that makes them each unique. I don't wave the "everything but a bird/Gibson is crap" flag at all. Just like I don't buy into the "only a 7ender is good enough" mentatlity. There are so many nice basses out there from so many builders that it seems unfair to me to not try/buy as many as possible ;) :roflmao:

A good mechanic has a lot of tools, but when it comes to bass playing, I am a tool!

Too many wheels. Two is all you need.

My Thunderbird just arrived and played it all day.
I was prepared the sound will be weaker in my taste, than my recent bass of the past 5 years.
And yeah at the first play i had to turn up the input gain on my recorder 'cause i couldn't hear the bass out of the song. After some play i started to mess with the EQ on Cubase, and i was surprised by a lot. I could get almost any sound what i wanted from deep punchy lows, to crispy highs (at least on PC). Such and exciting experiment and thinking about what can i do with it tomorrow and in the future.
By the way, my shoulders are dead, i really have to get used to it's balance.
First step: fixing dents, scratches and paint crackings.

My Dad was a hooker. I played wing back.
