Well, yeah! Of course! Did you even need to ask?I've dressed like a hooker, does that count for anything?
My Thunderbird just arrived and played it all day.
I was prepared the sound will be weaker in my taste, than my recent bass of the past 5 years.
And yeah at the first play i had to turn up the input gain on my recorder 'cause i couldn't hear the bass out of the song. After some play i started to mess with the EQ on Cubase, and i was surprised by a lot. I could get almost any sound what i wanted from deep punchy lows, to crispy highs (at least on PC). Such and exciting experiment and thinking about what can i do with it tomorrow and in the future.
By the way, my shoulders are dead, i really have to get used to it's balance.
First step: fixing dents, scratches and paint crackings.

We call that a bonus!I've dressed like a hooker, does that count for anything?
Never mind we all did but we're better nowused to gig with a Fender Jazz
I am not a brand loyalist at all. I have Thunderbirds by several different builders and love the thing that makes them each unique. I don't wave the "everything but a bird/Gibson is crap" flag at all. Just like I don't buy into the "only a 7ender is good enough" mentatlity. There are so many nice basses out there from so many builders that it seems unfair to me to not try/buy as many as possible![]()

Welcome to the club! Love the black pickguard on that bass.Hi Folks,
Can you add me to the list please?
I've been playing bass for a few years & used to gig with a Fender Jazz & a Harley Benton Electric Upright.
Got my T-Bird a few months back, love it, makes me wish I was gigging again!

Actually, that was a Gibson ad campaign. "Only a Gibson is good enough" one of the promos was Hendrix on a flying V for instance.
Yes it was and I have an ad with that phrase hanging on my wall. And it has a TBird in the ad as wellBut to each their own I always say. I don't think there is a "best" brand out there.
Never mind we all did but we're better nowAdmitting it is always the difficult bit

That should read . "So , if I dont play a precision with a high mass bridge and rolled fretboard edge , I'm not a reall bass player ?"

Yep, that strikes me as well.Everytime I read one of those threads I am struck by the assertion that a P Bass is perfect. Then you need to change the bridge, pickups, tuners... Must not be so precise.
