Nice! Now for her to do a bass body.I also got this cutting board made by my daughter and brother in law. Very cool that she went over to his place and he showed her how to use a bandsaw:

Thanks, I was actually thinking of doing that. Then buy 4 pots, not sure what to use with these overwound PUPs thoughYou could just drill a hole for the extra pot, or put it in the jack spot and drill a hole at the end of the body for the jack a la CP/VP.
If you want a four knob layout that plan works great, did it on my FrankenGoth. Thanks, I was actually thinking of doing that. Then buy 4 pots, not sure what to use with these overwork PUPs though
Can't help you with the maple fretboard, but here's a '71 custom color black with the atypical spacing. It's the only old bass I have that's near mint condition.

If your output jack is already on the end of the bass you could go with two stacked pots and use the third hole for the output jack, then blank off the hole on the end of the bass where the jack originally was.
As for pot values, if you go with 4 pots you should easily be able to find exactly the values you need. Stacked pots are a bit tricky but still easily done.
Are you going to narrow the whole neck or just the heel? The heel width on my Jolana is similar to an Epiphone so I’m debating which way to go:Assuming the Eppi Goth coming my way is good, I will have my 1.6 wide all-wenge Warmoth neck heel shaved to fit and re-sculpted (.80 at 1st fret). I also want to do the T/V/T/V inspired by our friend GBassNorth. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can do it using pots which are available on the market?
Merry Christmas ya'll
Love the whole purple motif! Your Grace is in command of the house... Looking vibrant!Perhaps I'll wear this to our Thunderbird Cotillion, I have to make a Ham later, so I'll be changing into something else!

I'd go with 2). Just make sure you like the neck- radius, etc- and they'll be no turning back. No debating dealing another neck, it is what it is, it's finished. Are you going to narrow the whole neck or just the heel? The heel width on my Jolana is similar to an Epiphone so I’m debating which way to go:
1) Route the body for the standard Fender 2.5” heel. This would allow me to put any Fender style neck on the body and use the neck on a different body if I want to change things up later.
2) Shave down / reshape the whole neck to fit the Jolana cavity. This is the most work, but I do like narrower necks. And the neck would be dedicated to the bass.
3) Route the sides of the heel to fit the body. This avoids routing the body or reshaping the whole neck.

Thanks. I'm the third owner. The first guy worked at a music store and special ordered it, but never played it. Ended up selling it to the guy I bought if from, and he just jammed with friends so it's really low milage. Trying to figure out the right string for it, but been too busy playing Thunderbirds. That looks so great!
lovely….my first experience with a J was at 14 with my teacher’s……exactly like that one (remember that 7ender case smell to this day) with the exception of a maple fb with black binding/blocks….. the beginning of a love affair with Js…/
Merry Christmas all from the wet coast!
I got to pick out my own present this year. It’s an 80’s Jolana Discobass body and this Warmoth roasted maple neck. I do love a project!

Unfortunately the electronics on mine have been redone poorly. There’s one Tesla pot. I’m thinking if I can get 100K push pull pots that the knobs will fit on, maybe I could retain the original wiring scheme with the option to switch out the caps.Awesome! These are really good basses! Original bridge as well! (mine was missing) When you get the chance, post pic's of the electronics - mine was altered and I returned it to what it was with help using the original specs. The neck on mine was/is exceptional - flamed maple! (and not bowed!)
Merry Christmas y'all!

If you’re going the four pup route you’ll only need to buy one tone pot. The original three pots in the Goth work well for the stock pickups. Thanks, I was actually thinking of doing that. Then buy 4 pots, not sure what to use with these overwound PUPs though
The stock pot values work very good. IIRC they are 500K audio taper volume pots (I’d need to open up my Goth to double check that, can do tomorrow if you want). The tone pots are also 500K IIRC. I don’t recall if they are Audio or Linear taper. The Goth has the 3 in-Iine pots, and input jack on front. I could leave it as is, use stack pots and a dummy (not used) pot, or drill an output jack and use 4 single pots. I guess that depends on what value pots you recommend for the stock PUPs to bring thunder but still some growl.
