Merry Christmas all from the wet coast!
I got to pick out my own present this year. It’s an 80’s Jolana Discobass body and this Warmoth roasted maple neck. I do love a project!

right back at ya Irv.
That's gonna be an interesting project to follow, it's not a bass shape I come across often on TB. Any hints on how the finished product will look like ?

Actually @JIO restored one last year:
Double Czech - Jolana DiscoBass & Kolorbass -
I’m planning on keeping the original checked finish (no pun intended) if possible and painting the headstock to match, but there is some separation of the body pieces. I’m not sure if I can get it realigned without requiring sanding.

I also got this cutting board made by my daughter and brother in law. Very cool that she went over to his place and he showed her how to use a bandsaw:

Thx, just took a peek. Great looking bass he came up with.

Happy Holidays to each of you and yours!
And a very merry Christmas to you and yours!

I think I'm finally going to break down & "refinish" my junk-bass, hence the sander.

My painting skills are :poop: , so it may turn out questionable, but should at least be a fun time :)
I can’t wait to hear about that nano amp with a bass. I tried one with a guitar once and was impressed with the bang for the buck.

Assuming the Eppi Goth coming my way is good, I will have my 1.6 wide all-wenge Warmoth neck heel shaved to fit and re-sculpted (.80 at 1st fret). I also want to do the T/V/T/V inspired by our friend GBassNorth. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can do it using pots which are available on the market?

Merry Christmas ya'll

You could just drill a hole for the extra pot, or put it in the jack spot and drill a hole at the end of the body for the jack a la CP/VP.

Do you know which pickups you’ll be using? That might affect which pot values would work best.

What Jazz Bass it is? More frets than on a a "normal" Fender.

From time to time I get a GAS for 70's Jazz Bass. Mostly it's a black with a white pickguard, maple fretboard with black blocks (because of Geddy and with a black pickguard, Wetton) or a natural with otherwise same specs (because of Squire). I used to dislike the maple fretboard with pearloid blocks, especially on a black bass but not anymore. I blame the swedes again. Tommy Thordsson has such a great sound here and I like the look of that bass with no pickguard.

Can't help you with the maple fretboard, but here's a '71 custom color black with the atypical spacing. It's the only old bass I have that's near mint condition.
