(as I know you will!) Hi guys, today I offer you an unedited comparison between the Fender Meteora Bass and the Epiphone Thunderbird Classic Pro. A modern sounding bass against a more vintage sounding bass both with humbucker pick up.
I'm letting the 67 NR a rest for awhile(it's still my number one-always will be). Prolly take it to the shop after 1/1 to have a little check-up; maybe look into whether the 'superfluous' pup pot is kaput. I have neither the skills or the equipment to do it myself. So temporarily, at least, these will be-left to right-my backup and stage basses.

Looks to be too close the the center block from my '64. Should be closer to the center of the pick guard. I suspect they might have a fair amount of variation. Likely no jig was used to locate and install them. V's is more like my location, but maybe a higher from a quick look.View attachment 4918509 View attachment 4918510
Not drilled 'n' screwed yet. But it's in the right place approximately, right?
Tug bars were indeed placed rather randomly. I've used a couple of locations any of which are correct. Do a google search, pick a location you like and run with it. Here's my three VPs sporting two different accurate locations.[ ATTACH]4918607[/ATTACH]Looks to be too close the the center block from my '64. Should be closer to the center of the pick guard. It seems our Thunderbird brother Scott has been busy with a new bass, just found this earlier today!
Pretty cool bass!
