I certainly knew of him and his work back in the day with Weather Report and Joni Mitchell. I was and am still a huge Joni fan. Some I liked. There was a lot I didn’t. But you can’t argue with his talent and the way he expanded the instrument.Pretty similar story here.
Best not to confuse “lack of interest” or unaware with “willful ignorance”.
If you think about it, it’s literally impossible to willfully or purposefully avoid knowing something about somebody you don’t even know exists. If I hadn’t ever heard of an individual (Jaco in my case) for the first 50 years of my life its foolish to claim that as “willful ignorance”. Ignorance maybe, unaware definitely, but tagging “willful” on to it is just ludicrous. After you do become aware of the individual, if you choose not to further educate yourself on their history it’s just a plain “lack of interest” or higher priorities.
As would a Subway 2x12.Hmmm that would work well with my D800+
Their other big hit here was “Holy Grail”. I like lots of their stuff but it’s a little eclectic, or was in the 80s anyway.Nice. Never heard of it/them.
I'm sorry to hear that, thankfully it seems you all managed to avert a disaster/great loss. Hopefully 2023 brings better things. The best laid plans of ducks and men...
Got an emergency call earlier from our guitarist Paul - our rehearsal space was flooding. Jumped in the Element and quickly found wide-spread chaos with road closures at every turn due to our constant Bay Area rain the last few days. A drive that normally takes 10 minutes now taking a circuitous route got me there 45mins later. Drove through a big flooded intersection slowly there and back - luckily the Element is a bit tall being an SUV. Many cars weren't risking shorting out their spark-plugs - it was deep and opposing traffic was creating big waves like in a boats wake.
Our beloved space under Paul & Sandy's living space/house was/is a slip&slide verging on wading pool. Luckily my Carvin cab is up on a 4" platform and Kirstin has the keys - but our carpets are all under-water. (one being a decent kilim of mine) Things (mic stands, guitar stands, anything touching the concrete floor) were wet, but luckily Paul caught it in time to move things to dry spots until I got there. (those dry spots quickly becoming not so dry spots) My Teiscobird and Factorbird were there - but are ok. (Factorbird gig-bag is pretty wet, along with the soft bass-drum bag) Loaded it all in the rain and dried it off when I got home.
Our plan was to pick it all up tomorrow and drive it directly to Pacifica. If I can believe the weather report for tomorrow - it's supposed to be clear/sunny with a few clouds. I hope.
Are those light?As would a Subway 2x12.
Hi Dave. And you’ll be joining us in the program soon enough. You’ll know you’re addicted when you get a Gibson. Or three. My name is Marshall and I'm a bass-o-holic.
Hi Marshall...
Awesome Geoff!
On this gorgeous central Texas winter afternoon/evening (78F), my wife and I went for a 4+ mile hike along the Brushy Creek Regional Trail. Photos (which don’t come close to captuting the glory og the sunset) are available on facebook. This evening, we had a traditional[1] supper of pasta with meat sauce, collard greens, and black eyed peas[2]. I did dishes, now we’re chilling until midnight. Then teh fireworks happen. Take that as you like. 8^)Don't know about you guys, but on this rainy Saturday PM, I'm into preparing tomorrow's NYD dinner for my brothers and their families, while watching the Star Wars saga and keeping an eye on you.... and wishing my custom white goth fenderbird comes to me soon.
Youzes ?

Where you been? She’s pretty awesome…Good on camera is an understatement.Over the last few days I’ve discovered Julia Hofer of Thomanns. Austrian girl that started on the Cello. Looks to be very talented and good on camera with her demos.
Yeah, but you don't have a 50ml gun on it
I’ve come clean and admitted I have a problem. I’ve told her about the 11th Tbird that will soon be joining the flock. Although I don’t think she has figured out there are already ten spread out in various places. I’m a goner when the music room is set up and all are in one place.
She just needs a Thunderbird Marshall. Oh, and a silver pickupWhere you been? She’s pretty awesome…Good on camera is an understatement.
Yep! Hard to tell, but it looks like he has the neck tap on and the bridge in full humbucker mode. The ‘15 can do pretty much anything. But that’s not your grandfather’s Thunderbird, that’s a 2015 with the magic pickups.
Yep.She just needs a Thunderbird Marshall. Oh, and a silver pickup![]()
Happy New Year Jeff. Can’t wait to meet up again, hopefully this new year.My New Years sentiments.

Engle, Ross, and the SupremesWe have bass, drums, guitar, keys, vocalist, sax, and trumpet. We could bring in a trombone. It’s difficult to get 7 people together for regular rehearsals.
We have a gig lined up in about a month, so if anyone has a good suggestion for a name…
Tell me 'bout it. I was in a Chicago/BS&T band in early 70. Same booking problem-too many people. We were called Cherrystone(coupla meanings). The guitar player had suggested Space D--k. That wouldn't have flown back then.
