Thunderbird Club

Just back from a gig from my original home"town" Ruokolahti*. The weapon of choice is in the picture and it delivered:View attachment 4995960

The Stora Enso factory is nearby. I think somebody here visited/worked there at one point.
I remember Lab Series... A local on our scene as young'uns had one. Big and clean, with an old Precision, strung with Rotosound tapewounds, through it.
Nice bass... What is that??...

:)

Thanks @GonePlaid , @Chucky Stiletti and @PhR75 ! All this is very encouraging, and it's a good time for that! And your folks' opinion carries some weight, so that's especially great.
Much thanks at you all.
yeah man, it’s rocking! tasty playing…was gonna ask, are the parts charted? if not, how long did it take you guys to tighteni it up like that?….:thumbsup:

Eh, I posted my bit and no one knows I did! But honestly, everything is layered with metadata and time stamps these days, so really it's not an issue. Also I feel ok here posting stuff...
I never tell my band(s) when I post recordings here... my daughter says I should be putting the metadata when I render the files. I'm just happy if it sounds OK and you can hear the bass:laugh:

No charts.
The guys had guitars and drums tracked for all the tunes we're currently doing, I came in a good bit after the fact. I started up with them just like a minute before COVID hit, and then we were down for that duration.
I was handed the mess of tubes and wrote bass lines. They're all pretty much what they started as, but playing them over the last however many months we've been back at it has tightened them/us up. So I guess we've been at it technically since start of COVID until now, but we all took time basically off during that time.
So an answer... Let's say four, five months just poking at em once a week, that's with me on board. How's that for long-winded!

It's been my fav amp since 2015 when I bought it for 100 euros. Sounds great when pushed, one of the best overdriven sounds from a solid state amp.
I have two L2's now, got one for free (!) from a friend and also an L4 which needs some service at the moment (I think the caps are gone or going). I prefer the L2 anyway.

I love finding a piece of gear that I want to stick with. That's great, just going to play and not always auditioning some pile!
Excellent.

I would love to play through an L2. I had an L5 guitar amp, which I had to sell when money was tight. I missed it as long as I played guitar.

Here's a shot from the Troubadour a few weeks back, just after rigging in the Lollar pickup into the neck. Also the first test of the neo-loaded Ampeg 4x12. Just finished up the Fender 2x15 today, loaded in some JBL K140s, and am looking at running a rig of Hiwatt (or Sunn 2000s) into the 2x15 with effects and the bridge pickup, and then the Thunderbird pickup clean into a 2000s into the Ampeg cab. Already done some recording testing with the bridge running into a Suncoast HD-1 then into a GED-2112, with the Lollar running straight in to a Pultec EQ and 1176 plugin, sounds fantastic combined. Can get the gritty aggression from the Rick pickup and then keep my lows big and full and clean below with the Thunderbird pickup, then pan them slightly to give a wider stereo image.

I'm selling off some stuff that I don't think I'll miss so much. I think I'll be ok... :cautious:

I'm keeping Tubezilla after a real-deal A/B test with the Peavey MK-III. Tubezilla won. I'm selling the Peavey and some other stuff, need money and space.
I won't be surprised if Remorse tries to bust its way in. I'm bolting the door hard.
