Went into the studio Monday, got four more songs done. All in one day. Great working with players that have their parts down and can work efficiently. And high praise for the Engineer, partial producer and owner, Bart Thurber, House of Faith, in Oakland. Excellent guy to work with, and always has great suggestions to add bits here and there on vocal parts, and other little extra guitar parts, and so on. I worked with him 30 (!) years ago when he was in Palo Alto and he just knows how to make you sound exactly the way your music should. These are the second group of four we did with him and I’m really looking forward to hearing these new ones. The first four we did back in October, are all up on Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music and Amazon. Just search “Red Sun Ruins”
It’s also an interesting space with some real vintage stuff all around, such as the vintage Leslie Cab. Maybe next time we will have a song that can utilize it!

You mean to eliminate J bridge pickup or switch to another one?

For now, stock J pickup will be there; but maybe next month I'll switch to a DiMarzio Area J or Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound, leaning more towards the SD.

It would be interesting to have a Precision, with that Jaguar body.

My P-Bird has P-rail pickups in it. I haven't played it for a while. It is probably time.

Just listened while working. Nicely done! Thanks for the heads up.

I got tired of waiting for them to make a VP NR so I’m building one myself from VP components. So far it’s coming along nicely, but a bit slower than I wanted, life keeps getting in the way.

…or in my case, building one.

Quite possibly the most beautiful Tbird made in the last 50 years! The white VPs are an instant classic. Welcome to the club.

I know what you mean. In the time it took me to layout and cut out a custom NR pickguard by hand today (plexiglass, coping saw and sand paper) more than 10 pages in the club flew by. This can certainly be a chatty group.
Doing the pickup opening with a coping saw and sandpaper is not easy!
