Thunderbird Club

I'm surprised he had the key that high, sounds like everyone's struggling to hit the highs or maybe they were burnt out from touring which is probably more likely.
It was 1980. Time flies. I doubt any of them can come close to that now. And it was a grueling tour. I was lucky enough to see two (of I think four) shows at the now long gone L.A. Sports Arena. Those were the first concerts there after concerts were banned following the Pink Floyd (1972?) show where the LAPD arrested more than 100 people for drugs. It was a big deal for concerts to return there. The Colosseum Commission needed the money to help fund the ‘84 Olympics.

Did they actually come inside or bust everyone after the gig?

Why do we buy so many amps and cabs and…? Are there just too many good deals out there? I have way more than I can use and I’m in two bands and two different rehearsal spaces to leave equipment at. Along with all the Ampeg amps and cabs I have, I just bought a couple of Orange cabs for my AD200B. I plan to leave one at one studio and use the other when playing out.

Luckily I live in a house and have a garage, so I can use my stuff at a good volume. I can’t imagine having to resist the urge if I was in an apartment!

Hmmm, I wonder if there's a subconscious desire to have at least one amp/cab per bass?

I still say put them outside and on Wednesday at 2:30 PM and crank them up during finals week at the nearby law school.

You are amazing. I'd just wet my pants if I saw my amp looking like the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz with the straw all over the place.

Putting Humpty-Dumpty back together is always the challenging but fun part......

Hear or feel?

Why choose? Both should be roughly equal, no?

you mean; the BIG guitar

At 13 being totally clueless, it's why I chose a bass guitar over a bass - it was bigger than the guitars on either side of it on the wall. (and only had 4 strings!) I was tall at an early age so it just seemed the right size for me! :)

Well..., I have 4 7ender combos and the Ka$ino(also technically a combo, just a heavy one)and 5 basses: 2 Gibson's, 2 Epi's, and 1 Ibanez.
Oh, wait. I also have my emergency backup P___MAX110 amp. Guess I gots to buy another bass.

Get one of the new Eppi Newports, drop an aftermarket heavy wound Mudbucker in place of the wimpy stock one and you’d have a monster bass for about $400 all in.

That would be bad… I think I’m at about 24, plus two guitars.

I've 50% less basses, and 100% less guitars - with seven amps (one's a combo) and four cabs (one of which can run top half & bottom half independently).

So apparently, need to either buy more amps & cabs, or sell off a few basses........

Well, obviously :p
An emergency backup bass for the emergency backup amp :)

How do you manage with only 5 basses? o_O

Bought the Vintage Pro today, thanks for all the advice everyone.

Going to get it to the Luthier tomorrow to flip it.

Only issue I've noticed after tuning it up is that the E tuner is a little loose, so it rattles on an open string. Would have called it up in the shop but it only became apparent when I got it home and tuned it. Is this something I can ask the luthier to tighten up, or should take it back to the shop? Not sure if it requires a new tuner or if it can be fixed
