Feuer Frei is German for Free Fire. In the Army, it is a range command - shoot (at your target) until you are out of bullets. Also, if you have watched some Viet Nam war movies, you may be familiar with the term "free fire zones" - shoot anything that is moving.

Having only a passing familiarity with German, I have no idea what the song is about. But the fire is awesome.

that came up in last night’s rehearsal, smiling more onstage ….truth is (as JAE said in a Musician Magazine interview over 30 years ago…. went something like; “I may look miserable onstage, but playing bass live is the most exciting thing I do”….I may look unhappy but I’m is such a blissful place I’m past smiles or lack of them…..

This is a very interesting band from Peru, UCHPA, they are part folklore and modern and sing in a language called Quechua from the mountains, I've seen them, they're very good live, song about beer



Here's some recent straight ahead rock bands from Peru who sing in English, the problem is they're not really very original.





Soda Stereo (Gustavo Cerati) and Juanes are two off the top of my head who sold a lot of records out here. I think both Columbia and Argentina are much more rock oriented countries though and support the music, out here? Naa. But spanish music is big business in the Spanish speaking countries.

I bought this album when it was current: Siempre es Hoy- Gustavo Cerati He came from a band called Soda Stereo from Argentina who were very well known here, still are,



Juanes from Colombia- I also bought this when it was new.

I really dug the UCHPA song! The band seemed to have fun, too. And Juanes seems like a solid pop act.

Hah! That sounds very British. I personally feel it had more to do with UK bands from the early '60s "British Invasion" ("Dave Clark 5", "The Mersey Beats" etc) who smiled very much (too much?) to make a good visual impression. It was the same with Miles responding to Sachmo overly smiling to gain acceptance with white audiences, by being more visually connected to his band than the audience. (turning his back on his audience) Every performer has their own way to deal with performing - and how they justify the way they do it.

Yeah, they're good, just as good live and that show is something.
I recently saw Juanes on American TV with some other artists but forgot where, he had several really good hits over here from that same album. Here's another good one.

But isn't that pretty much any wedding? Stop trying to confuse us, we are simple minded and only care about the open bar...unless we are single, and then you can add how fast we can get the bridesmaids drunk.
