There's probably a few spots you could use it.
I have played with it a fair bit at home, but so far only used it on stage for the break in "Fly at Night".

I just looked it up. Can the H/LPF function be engaged separately from the drive? If so, that could replace the Broughton on my board and provide some additional functions that would be fun to have. The board isn't going to get bigger, and it won't get replaced. A pedal that size has to do a bunch of stuff independently.

I don't think the HPF/LPF work independently.

I tried. Gave it 30 seconds. Couldn’t take any more. I guess that’s how my Dad must have felt about the Black Sabbath albums I used to crank.

I didn't really care for them when they were new, 20-25 years ago, just wasn't my thing back then, so I totally get it.

I got re-introduced? to them a year or so ago, and I found that now, I really like most of their stuff.
But, a lot of my musical tastes/preferences have changed since then, so these days, I listen to whatever I happen to be liking this week

The huge variety of music on Spotify and Amazon music, even obscure stuff, from all over the world, have been really great tools for expanding the kinds of music I like & listen to

This was a great show Geo! Some pretty difficult songs to pull off well, but you did it. I can’t believe I’m saying this about a guitar player, but yours should up the boost a bit more when he solos. He’s good. And great bass playing as always. I thought the version of Wild Is The Wind was great.

Thanks for your kind words Marshall! Paul is good and usually he's a bit loud on his solo's, especially Mission:Impossible where he uses a flanger. It could have been that his amp was angled away from the camera mic because I don't recall having difficulty hearing him that night.

Outside with TSC's tomorrow at 4PM at Winters' Tavern in Pacifica. Their annual "Beaster" Sunday. It'll be Kirstin's last show before her new daughter is born. We rehearsed one new song to debut tomorrow with relative lyrics!

.from your post, it seems like you are acclimating to the local folk art form as most humans will…..

Rock is not really a local art form out here but I thought it was cool how they combined elements of the indigenous mountain culture into their show and plus sang in that language, it's still spoken in the mountainous regions here, my father-in-law spoke it when he was a kid. I like some of the indigenous music, most of it I could take it or leave it, some I'm not crazy about.

I do agree with you about language though, there is a huge Spanish language media for Spanish language music which I would guess is just as big if not bigger than English language media.

That's pretty good and yeah it is similar, 'Southern Culture on the Skids' I think the Juanes video was shot in a bad section of a Colombian city, it is very similar to the bad parts of Lima.

The H/LPF is only for the drive--but remember you don't have to drive it into overdrive so you could have a mild boost with the filters or no boost at all. Because there is a "Drive" and a "Drive Volume," it's pretty versatile. There is a fair amount of room before anything begins to breakup. So in a very real sense you could use it for the filters with not OD or distortion.

that came up in last night’s rehearsal, smiling more onstage ….truth is (as JAE said in a Musician Magazine interview over 30 years ago…. went something like; “I may look miserable onstage, but playing bass live is the most exciting thing I do”….I may look unhappy but I’m is such a blissful place I’m past smiles or lack of them…..

I'm not much of a smiler onstage either, in fact I close my eyes sometimes.

I do like "couth" - it is mostly a proper way to label the un-couth. As in, you would not hear someone say; "that person lacks couth"... mostly used followed by "un".

Some other terms related; awkward, barbaric, boorish, cheap, clownish, coarse, crass, crude, discourteous, gawky, graceless, gross, heavy-handed, ill-bred, ill-mannered, impertinent, impolite, inelegant, loud, loutish.

Yep. It's a good word.

I can think of many reasons these days. Many offenders fit the bill there.

I'm not Chucky but that sounds like contemporary pop/rock that's popular out here, for some reason they mix the lead vocals up really loud and a lot of the vocalists of that style I hear at least in Peru would sound better somewhat buried . They even mix the lead vocals of pseudo-punk up really loud here. I don't listen to much radio out here.

I'm excited to play/hear it - most of my live pedals are only used for one song each, but they really deliver it so it's worth it. We're already rockin' History Repeating and it will just make it that much better! I've used my EH Mel9 with bass and it sounds awesome, but it primarily is for Kirstin's keys which is used a a few songs.

Exactly. I may not even use mine for distortion. Most of my distortion comes from digging in and overdriving the amp anyway.
