Thunderbird Club

I'm not familiar with those, but another option is either the Gator ProGo or Icon soft case. I've had both and they work great. Extremely protective. You just have to remove the inside bottom cushion for the Thunderbird to fit.
I bough a Gator case some years ago at a pawn shop. It’s their basic wooden case. An Ibenez came with it. But I mainly wanted the case for my 7enders.

A buddy of mine had an econoline with an 8 track player, I still think of Iron Butterfly when I see one.
Mine had an AM radidio[sic]. I added a Radio Shack FM converter/cassette player. And two re-coned 7ender Bassman speakers and piezo tweeters built in to the front of a bed/box in the back portion.

Ok, there has been enough that I now feel compelled to say something. I have a couple of his albums and saw him live back in the mid-80s ('83 maybe?). He has a number of good songs; I would describe his genre as garage rock (3 chord, simple songs).

[Neil Young rant]

But he annoys me every time he opens his mouth these days. I find him to be a self-righteous blowhard. As well, he is an abject hypocrite. Writing 3 chord songs gives you no expertise in politics, economics, law, and social problems. He could do the world a favour by shutting his mouth every time he feels the urge to utter anything other than bad poetry set to music.

For someone who was anti-establishment in the 60s, he has drifted a very long way from his roots (but fails to recognize this).

And he is no longer a Canadian. He hasn't lived in Canada nearly as long as I have been alive. Borrowing a phrase from Anthony Bourdain, he is just another annoying California celebutard; he rates right up there with the Kardashians.

[/Neil Young rant]

And I'll counter your Neil Young rant with a GREAT 5 chord song.

Florida cracker - Wikipedia

Modern usage[edit]
Among some Floridians, the term is used as a proud or jocular self-description. Since the huge influx of new residents into Florida in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, from the northern parts of the United States and from Mexico and Latin America, the term Florida cracker is used informally by some Floridians to indicate that their families have lived in the state for many generations. It is considered a source of pride to be descended from "frontier people who did not just live but flourished in a time before air conditioning, mosquito repellent, and screens" according to Florida history writer Dana Ste. Claire.[7]
Yup.:)
'Course I couldn't exist w/o those things now.

OK, here’s the line up, (or more accurately, the “pile up”)…
View attachment 5044730

I already have two of the basses strung with the exact same strings and I have a spare set of the same strings available, all with about the same playing time on them (less than about 40 hours, so broken in but still fairly new and not dead). The strings are Fender 7150 vintage nickel round wound .045 - .105.

All basses will use the same instrument cable and all amp settings will remain the same. I’ll only test the “A” string on each bass at the open, five, nine and twelfth frets (that way I don’t have to completely restring each bass). I’ll dime each volume and tone knob and back off the bridge pickup just enough to eliminate any cancellation scoop that might occur. I’ll play the A string finger style only right over the center of the neck pickup of each bass then again at the exact same 6” distance from the bridge on each bass. When done, the basses will be listed in order of darkest to brightest. The basses being used are as follows:
Epiphone VP Tbird
Gibson 2021 NR Tbird
Gibson 2015 Tbird
Gibson 2013 Tbird
Epiphone 2010 Tbird
All basses are bone stock except the Goth which has been capped to increase the top end available.

I’ll post the results in a couple of hours. Stay tuned!
Was anyone hurt?

Having a little TT action at my place.

For a time, they ruled L.A.
I’ll look into it. I have an iPad Air 4th Gen, so I’ll need to figure out what cable fits that. I use the freeware version of WavePad for my iPad sound capture and editing so some features aren’t enabled, that might have been part of my problem. Posting the sound clip was a royal PITA and required the listener to download the file before playing, which I’m not fond of (not keen on downloading things to my computer from strangers).
probably the easiest thing to do is set up a YouTube channel.

In all the years I've been here I've only blocked two or three people and unblocked two of them after a few days and remain on friendly terms with them, the third? Fuggetaboutit.
There was a thread the other day started by someone I blocked. I unblocked him, read it and blocked him again. Most who I’ve booked are long gone. The Mods run a tight ship.

Yes, good mods here. I didn't have to unblock mine, I had dealt with him before and I wasn't the only one in the thread who had a hard time with him, that time was just the last straw for me. Sometimes you'll be in a bad mood and take something the wrong way and unblock the person and realize they're ok but not this time.

Was the '15 tapped or humbucking? Humbucking is a bit louder and fuller sounding.
It was in full humbucking mode, but the pickups are buried so deep in the body it does affect the overall volume.

LOL - I placed those birds there so gingerly you’d think they were raw eggs. (Pun intended)

Was thinking along the same lines but don’t want to deal with all the internet exposure YouTube brings to the mix. My online footprint in just Talkbass is already much larger than I’d like it.
I have been contemplating ditching the smart phone in favour of a flip phone. Privacy rather than curmudgeon concerns... Mostly.
