Thunderbird Club

Bond Girl show tonight in SF at The Knockout, which is in Cherie & my hood. (the Mission) 2 bands, one long set. (one band canceled at the last minute) There's a chance it will be live-streamed by the same guy who streamed our last show at Winters'. This is the vid from Winters' - you can probably link to his page to watch it live if it happens. And if it happens it will be available on YouTube later. As far as I know we will go on at 7:30-8:00 CA time.

Set List:

1) Dr No (full) - I
2) History Repeating
3) Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps
4) From Russia with Love
5) The Avengers Theme - I
6) The Spy [In the House of Love]
7) Big Bad Handsome Man
8) Diamonds are Forever
9) Mission:Impossible - I
10) You're Never There
11) Skyfall
12) Last of the Secret Agents
13) Tomorrow Never Dies
14) A Shot in the Dark - I
15) Wild is the Wind
16) Secret Agent Man
17) Goldfinger

We’re in the same boat. We have a show coming up Saturday afternoon, and 3rd band cancelled on us, luckily after we found some opening acoustic acts that have short 20 minute sets. But for the life of us we can’t find a band to play after. Luckily between our full set of 11 originals, 2 covers we have done before, and now 2 more cover we chose and will play together for the first time at practice tomorrow, and will need slight arrangement adjustments from the recorded versions, we can at least fill up some time with a 15 song set. One of the new covers is a UFO song, so I’ll definitely have a ‘bird in hand!

I’m sure you’ll have a great show, I hope it’s a full house!

cool! which UFO tune?

Gotta be Lights out!

I’m hoping by my suggesting we do Doctor Doctor and they enthusiastically agreeing, I can get a few more UFO in our back pockets for occasional adds to sets. Also hoping by July and on we can be getting more shows. Got 4 more songs going up on streaming platforms soon.

Charles Nelson Reilly for the win :p

That's close to the one I have! The one in the photo is a '63, mine's a '62 Sports Roadster M code in red with the side skirts, wish I had the wire spoke hub caps though. Needs a lot of work (mostly paint and electrics, replace the solenoids and hydraulics), but it's fun as hell to drive.

you win.

RARE M-CODE “TRI-POWER” SETUP (ONLY 120 BUILT AS SPORTS ROADSTERS; 40 KNOWN TO EXIST)

Doctor Doctor, nice and easy for me and fun for the guitarists. Easy enough to get in one rehearsal. Probably taking the white VP,

I always liked the '70s pale natural finished T-birds. ...is the bass-players fly open? :cautious:

Oh my god! I need a car. I totaled the Subie Outback in February during the storms we had in the mountains. For now, all I have is a crappie company car; a Nissan Rouge. It isn’t a Subie. I shouldn’t be so harsh. It’s ok. But I would never buy one. That TBird is gorgeous.
Sorry, man.
Hmmm… Rouge? Or Rogue?

Yep. Thanks V. Waiting on the Crosstrek Sport due this summer. We’ll see. I really don’t need something as big as an Outback. Or even a Forester anymore. But I had limited choices due to Covid when my last Forester lease ran out. We had wicked weather this year. Living at 6000 feet, even in SoCal, can be dangerous. Came around a bend, there was a boulder that was in the middle of the road, swerved to miss it but hit it anyway. Pretty much all undercarriage damage.
Big rock undercarriage damage on the interstate at night early this year is why I replaced my old Mazda 3 hatchback 2-3 years earlier than planned.

Thanks Donnie. But I’m long over being attached to cars. The best we’re six Volvos I’ve owned several. My wife has her Hondas. I’ve also had about a dozen company cars over the years. The worst was a VW Scirocco. I’ve had six Subies since Volvos became too expensive. Best value for the money IMO.
I was going to get a Subie after all the raving here, but it would have been 2-3 extra months past the 40 day wait for the Mazda.

Hi guys! I'm sorry if this has been brought up already, but I searched and didn't find anything about it.

Does anyone have experience in both Non Reverse models (2013 in pelham blue and the new ones)? How do they compare?

I really like the chrome hardware on the new ones, but something in the look of the 2013 version makes me think they look better, but I don't know what it is

I don't have any playing time with either, but I recall some discussion that the neck on a 2013 is a little chunkier. The pickup are standard TB+ instead of the newer design of the 2021 NRs. That is just what I recall from piecing together comments about both.

Searching isn't what we do around here anyway. We like questions because it lets us all talk some more.
