Oh my that Jackson is the bass. Played pointy headstock basses for a long time and always wanted one of those. But they more rare than an amp on stage at a stadium show these days.

It is a rare fellow, one of 56 total produced before Gibson rattled the lawsuit saber. It is an angry razor of a bass, perfect for certain stages.

Hi, i recently bought from eygutarparts two thunderbird humbuckers, long story short i realized too late (im already over their 30 days terms) that they sent me the nickel cover version instead of the chrome covered ones i ordered.

A friend of mine suggested to buy new chrome covers and just swap the nickel ones, but im seeing that the cover is soldered on the pick up itself. I dont want to risk to destroy the magnet or the wiring so id like to ask to the experts here if swapping the cover is a safe task (i have decent soldering skills) or its better to keep the pick up as it is. Thank you

I have TB+ pickups manufactured in October 2013. Question is can I measure as installed or do I have to unsolder?

I tried a quick search, but felt kinda bad doing it. Didn’t find the answer. But came across this beauty for sale in England. Not cheap. But such a nice Thunderbird.

Bond Girl show tonight in SF at The Knockout, which is in Cherie & my hood. (the Mission) 2 bands, one long set. (one band canceled at the last minute) There's a chance it will be live-streamed by the same guy who streamed our last show at Winters'. I wouldn’t risk unsoldering them. Contact EY to see if they’ll swap you. If not, just resell them on Reverb for $10 less than the new ones, and get yourself the chromes you like.

If you truly feel compelled to change out the covers on the ones you have, I’d recommend using a small exacto hacksaw type blade or a dremel rotary cutter vs a soldering gun. Then I’d epoxy the new cover on with some JBWeld vs soldering the new cover on.

Marathon rehearsal with the band yesterday, we played all three sets, each about 55 minutes, it went pretty well with just a couple of small issues. I was damn tired and very pitted out by the time we finished!
