Kinda like those Orange Cream popsicles I remember from the ‘70’s (back when I would eat those kinda things.
Swapped the EBCF’s for DR DDT’s at the last minute.
Show went pretty damn good!
I’ve not tried the DDTs but like most of DRs stuff. How do you think they compare to the cobalts?

I had (drunken) dancers in my face... a J can handle it.
Absolutely, you could bludgeon someone to death with one of those. The VP is more like a knife. You can jab someone with the headstock and then break it off in them like a shiv.

TMI...

That was a water based stain/sealer.

I'm old-school and prefer oil (alkyd) based sealers - but have used the water based products as well. Just got to stay on top of it because UV rays will eventually break it down and depending on how it's applied, it doesn't absorb into the wood like a thinner-based product does..

I usually restrain myself and just whup them in the melon with the peghead, but ok:laugh:

Yes. We had regulars who would come to the place whenever we were booked. One other problem there: the owner liked to sit at the closest seat to the band then bit.., er, complain we were too loud while people in the middle and rear of the room were complaining they couldn't hear us.:banghead:
Had a similar situation Friday night. People at the first table saying "turn down"; people at the bar ~30 feet away saying they couldn't hear us.
It’s not like you use exotic gear or anything. Can you move the Bose PA further away from where you’re playing? I don’t recall what you put through it, but if the Bose is further out where from where the owner is, maybe you can find a happy place?

I actually prefer cobalt flats, but in this band we tune flat, and then drop for some songs, as well as tune to D standard and drop to C for some. The EBCF’s I stuck on the VP were 105-50, and, while those work perfectly on a P-Bass I have tuned the same, on the VP, they also felt good except I wasn’t happy with the drop to Db.

I use the DDT’s (115-55) on a P-bass that I have in D-Standard (and sometimes drop C), and I have found that I like the feel of the DDT’s in lower tunings. They sound pretty darn good too, but I can’t say it’s anything special. I think, in general my favorite round is the Infeld super alloy, but they don’t have much variety of sizes so I only use them on standard tuned basses.

I think the EBCF’s on the VP may be better in the Eb tuning if I went with a 110 on the E(b) string.

Since I’m a finger player, it’s a lot about getting the right string and tension at the given tuning.

Back in the ‘90’s, my favorite string was Dean Markley blue steels. A number of years ago I ordered a couple dozen sets. They were not the same. I still have some with the blue silks, but these new ones didn’t have any silks and the were not the same string.

Maybe it's because I'm not a schooled musician, but coming into that drum intro seems pretty intuitive. Same with the Eagles song.
There are a couple spaces where you would really want a hit. Speaking as a mediocre and knuckle headed drummer. Once you figure out the feel and the timing, it isn't technically challenging.

I guess that's essentially what I was saying - I go on feel, not counting.
