Thunderbird Club

That was a staple. Did anyone other than you guys even notice?

We stressed over the break in No Matter What. At the end of the day, it never mattered.

It was a long time ago, I'm sure some people noticed but it was more of a joke than anything. You mean the Badfinger tune? I used to do two of them, No Matter What and Baby Blue.

I mean, I may count in my head first learning a song, but once it gets ingrained I just hear where I'm supposed to come in, or where 1 is at.

I learn most tunes by listening to them without playing, I like to have tunes down cold before I ever play them with a band, I'm talking covers. I actually find that the easiest way although if there's something tricky in it I'll have to listen a few times and keep trying it until I get it. Sometimes it's one unexpected note. I was playing along with "Say a little Prayer for You" Aretha the other day and there was one note, a D at the end of that descending run and I kept playing D flat because the line started on high D flat on the G string. That tune I had to work on, in fact I think I would have to play that one over and over again to get it down cold. It's a Jerry Jemmott line, not a simple thing.

We do have 4 songs on Bandcamp and all of our recordings on Soundcloud - but once Kirstin has her 2nd child (any minute now!) I'll have her get our 16 pro-recorded songs on a accessible platform. Thanks for your interest. :)

Found you!
The Sean Conneries

Followed you too.

Here's my page there:
O'Man

I've found that people mostly listen to my stuff on youtube or Spotify but the Bandcamp is the only place where the songs are downloadable.

My drummer in the band I played with today, Red Sun Ruins, at 52, is about to become a dad again. Right after that happens (just about a month from now), the band will be on a (sort of) break for a few months. We’re going to get drum tracks for our remaining 3 completed original songs while he’s still available. Then, once he’s busy being a good “new” dad, we will take our time tracking the rest. We’re gonna do these three differently. Unlike the 8 songs we have done so far with Bart Thurber in Oakland, these will be recorded by the drummer from my other band, Bad Lemon. He records and mixes all the songs for that band.

Are you guys going to be on a break for awhile too?

Yep, gotta work around life tangents as best as possible. TSC's has a show on Sunday June 25th at Hotel Utah/SF. We'll have a few rehearsals before that date, but we are pretty solid on a 45min set whenever it occurs. Rehearsals at that point are a matter of fine-tuning. But once Kirstin is fully 'back', we'll start working on new material, (originals by Paul and renditions of favorite classics) some of which we've already started developing.

I hear ya. I’ve never been a big fan of the big sedans. I’m more a muscle car/sports car/truck fan. Flash finishes on a sports car or muscle car can be very cool as a daily driver, not so much on a sedan for me, and never on a truck.
The stock paint color on my 911 is a blue/violet shift color depending on the angle of the light. Love that color…

Sure thing - I'm not good at copping every beat/bass-line the first time, sometimes much simpler beats will trip me up. I watched a YouTube vid of a top drummer (it was a while ago- can't recall who) where he listened to a really sophisticate metal song (something by Metallica?) that he never listened to before, and right after followed the same song sans drums and killed it! :woot: That kind of memory retention I do not have!
