Thunderbird Club

OK, point A: I never liked "The Police" so I pretty much avoid listening to them(plus I think Sting's an A-hole). I do know he never liked Copeland's drumming. and,(II), they, of course, record to a 'click track', so one could come in on the 'and-a' of 3. What happens live may be a whole 'nuther story.

Also, I'm convinced that some bands recorded something "weird" just to f---* up cover bands.

*oul

I liked their first album, then liked specific songs after that. Never liked the real busy stuff they did.

Yes, but, I have NO BUSINESS spending any more money right now. Not to mention the time to drive out and back.

I do like mine quite a bit, basically Gibson addressed all of the common misconceptions about Thunderbirds when they made basses.
Snapping the headstock would take some pretty serious stupid, the neck is stout.
Contemporary bridge, not a 3 point.
Headstock is 2/3 the size of a standard Post '88.
TB Plus pickups and a set neck = a very good match, they really shine.
Originally they sold for less than a standard Bird
5 string version available!

My wife was a huge Kids in the Hall fan, so we've been rewatching all of the old episodes, and we actually got about halfway through the second season before I realized that the theme, "Having An Average Weekend", by Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, features Thunderbird content! It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind of thing, but it's definitely there...

Edit: That was apparently Reid Diamond on bass, and he appears to have been a Tbird fan based on the number of photos over the years that show him playing one.

One of my favorite shows ever!

This guy, Jeff Lynne is fun.
I saw an interview with him on YouTube some time ago.

Interviewer: Your show, I saw in that place and year (
I don't remember these details), atmosphere was amazing.
Jeff: I know, I was there too.

Both lol
Fun fact(s): I have it on pretty good authority that my 1976 BC Rich Bodine bass was previously owned by Steve McGrath, who did production work for Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty. And he's played bass for Billy Idol for the past 20 years.
