Keep working him Chuck. I think you're beginning to wear Marshall down. He's been an attorney a long time so he knows how to keep his emotions and expressions in check. But I think you're making progress. Don't give up.

That's mine. It was sanded by a previous owner. It was a really goofy looking transition at the peghead, so I took that poly off, smoothed it all out and finished with tung oil.
The neck has been shaved to the point that the walnut strip is paper thin at one point. And they removed the binding, so the neck is narrower than Will's.
They are exactly the same bass, but mine has been rocked and thrashed, hard and revived. Will's is almost a case queen - It has been played, but not a lot.
There was a really good mariachi band in Cancun last month!

I have the same tuners on my Discobass. (sans covers) They aren't original and neither were the ones on it when I bought it. They're cool though. The covers on mine are slightly different. They wouldn't fit spacing wise so I left them off. These 70's Japanese tuners replaced originals on other Jolana basses I've seen.Original Jolana tuners installed on the Discobass

My Bach looks quite different, L to R in the rack 2021 Gibson, '93 Jackson, BaCH NR, Les Paul Oversize, Gibson 1976.
The neck on the Bach looks heavenly! - Is it as shallow (deep/depth) as it looks?
There does seem to be a bit of variability in the BaCH birds, maybe depending on which run you got. To be honest I rarely ever notice neck differences when playing different basses. About the only exception to that is when I was playing my new 2021 NR and reached over to the bass stand to pick up the BaCH (which I later sold to Marshall). I was actually shocked by the difference in neck thickness (front to back). The BaCH neck was substantially thinner and very fast and easy to get around on.
It’s an incredibly sleek neck but never felt “toothpicky” probably because the width was about the same as a standard Tbird. Never gigged it outside or transported it from house to venue, but in my temperature and humidity controlled house it was always good and stable. It was easy to get a low action on and the fretwork was all pretty nice. Just a pleasure to play.
My only reason for selling it was I was having a hard time getting used to only one pickup, and was constantly looking for something to rest my thumb on. I considered converting it to a dual pup bass but several club members here talked me out of carving into a relatively rare bass. It’s in a good home now where it will be appreciated for what it is.

It does look really good. From your recordings, your's sounded better than my Ric did. I attribute a good bit of that to the player. I think Will is going to be very happy.

The key to a high score seems to be breaking out a 4 iron and just hitting them down the middle. Hitting the Big Dig into the back fence doesn't register as many points. Even my wife thought it was fun and she has never swung a golf club in her life.
And, yes, 10 Top Golf Drive, San Jose...actually it's in Alviso. Levi Stadium is just off to the right of the range.
