I've not heard of the Washington Colonels and I would not be associated with anything with DC in the name. He needs to visit here and find a better class of people. We do have Kentucky Colonels he can join. Won't see me there either. A philanthropic group. He likely wouldn't want to join anything that would let me in anyway. The Kentucky Privates would be more my level. But that just sounds really, really weird.....

I see that was a typo.
Maybe he lives here in Kentucky. I'm not sure if if have to live here to be granted being Kentucky Colonel or not.
Then there are those infamous Washington Generals that keep losing to the Harlem Globetrotters.

He also bestowed pardons on his chief of staff and a few others for "creative" use of funds during a campaign. You were really somebody if you were granted one of those. Why did you say you left Kentucky again?
LOL - no pardons here, although I wish he could have fixed a couple of speeding tickets for me. :D

Can anyone list “good” options for high end upgraded pickups on a Gibson bird and Eppi VP? Now that I have 2 VP’s I want to upgrade the pickups in one of them.
Here’s what I came up with so far:

Lollar
SD
Novak
Alternate dimension…
Alternate Dimension Thunderbird Bass Humbucker set | Reverb

EMG…
EMG TBP-B Active P Bass Pickup in Thunderbird Housing | Reverb

Bartolini…
Bartolini "Classic Bass' Thunderbird Dual-Coil Humcancelling - Best Bass Gear

Living vicariously through someone…
TT.

I can't believe I've had that bass for a year and a half now.......
I somehow think it was deal considering how prices have gone and that there seem to be fewer around.

still waiting for V to give us a sound check on the SDs.

The bass is on the bench, but it's going to take some time to dial it in, always does. That and the bridge pickup rout is going to need a little work to get the pickup to fit correctly, it's just a little tight.

If it's the same noise that my Pro 5 had, it's pretty common on the Pros.

Copper shielding should eliminate most, if not all, of that noise - I did the electronics bay and the pickup routes on mine, the was the pickups shielding that ultimately made the difference.

Mine is almost dead silent now

I did the same with a Rickenbacker 4001 once, it was dead quiet afterwards, I had to aim the pickups at the source to get any noise at all.
