Thunderbird Club

'22 I picked up a year ago. Have since added a hipshot bridge which changes the experience entirely. Love this thing.

The Four Seasons (Frankie Valli) live in about 1964 on some TV show with off camera drummer outfitted with Gibson amps, a thunderbird II and a Firebird. Nick Massi was a great bass player. The last song Rag Doll with the solo bass intro was one of the songs that made me want to play bass besides The Beatles. Hard to do a medley like this especially with a studio drummer. The keyboard player Bob Gaudio, along with Bob Crewe the manager, wrote and produced almost all their hits, with the help of a lot autotune and other vocalists doing the falsetto parts Frankie is still playing to this day. They were huge when I was a kid along with The Beatles and The Stones.

I wasn't in the band when they named it, I never liked it. They started out playing Southern rock which was big during the late 70's I think that's where they got it. I was a hard rocker and joined it because my guitar playing buddy asked to join. I wasn't crazy about the whole thing at first but they turned out to be good musicians and had some good originals so I eventually liked it.

This is live from 1980, a board recording into a 4 track reel to reel. The singer/writer was from Tennessee. This was also a fretless P bass through an SVT, miced. Charlie was a good singer.....I wasn't at least playing a fretless bass at the same time. Yeehah!

At the intersection of Chris Rea, southern rock, and modern Texas c&w. With occasional hints of the Dead. I like it!

Is @johnpringo Johnny Press? Was he the singer/writer? He has several Southpaw songs on his channel, but no video footage in the few I have listened to so far.

Did you buy it - asking for a friend.

I haven't, but am debating. Realistically I should just be saving to refinish the BaCH, which is likely what I'll do, but I'm watching it...

I wonder if extra fees get added when buying stuff from that site?

Not really, the exchange rate is a little different, and then there's shipping, but it's usually pretty cheap. That's where I picked up my Greco Rick basses, a Greco Strat, and some pedals. Very straightforward transactions.
