How are YOU feeling about the Duncan’s?

100% better than what was there before, in the video it has some Ken Smith 45-105 Rock Master Stainless rounds on it that are easily a year old, I'm thinking I may go ahead and put some SIT Powersteels on it. The pickups are much fuller sounding than the EY Guitars ones and I like that, they don't quite have what a Lull has going on, but they're pretty nice.

How do you feel they compare to the Epiphone 760s or current Gibson NR pickups?

I’m thinking I’m gonna pull the trigger on a set of Curtis Novaks, especially if he has some in stock. I definitely love the Lollars I have in my ‘95 Gibby, and currently another set in the ‘01 Gibby. I may take the Lollars out of the ‘01 and put them in the new VP I just bought, and use the Novaks in the ‘01. @BklynKen has shown an interest in the 760’s out of my new VP.

…or I’ll order some Duncan’s…

Molly Hatchet - There is a band I haven't thought about in a while. I used to listen to them in the 80s; very few people in school knew of them or listened to southern rock.
I saw them as the opening band for the Allman Brothers in the late '70s. The Molly Hatchet audience was really different from the Allman Brothers audience.

I am completely sold on Lulls.

Yeah, this is good one. It's funny, a lot of people probably have no idea what A-11 means now.

I was thinking the same thing while at Winters' last night. They have a digital "jukebox". My 1st real job was as a busboy at an Italian resteraunt. I worked my way into being 'second in command' behind a guy who had been there a while. They had a jukebox (w/45 records) in the back serving space. On Sat nights - we would close that section off after the 'crowd' disperesed. (it was a busy place on a Sat night) The busboys still working took turns with 'eating shifts' back there while others covered their stations. We'd order our dinner (after midnight!) and while eating listen to the jukebox. That #1 busboy who was a bit older & I regularly got our 'eating shift' together. While eating, he would always play Neil Diamonds "Solitary Man". As a teen, I looked up to him because he was cool and had it together - a real alpha male. He worked his last day there on a Sat night, and after we ate he jimmy'd the cover of the jukebox with a butter knife, and removed the 45 of Solitary Man. I never forgot that image - I thought that was the coolest - still do.

Was it A-11?

Not like 760s, lot more going on, a bit like the Gibson but I need to hear them with some better strings than what is currently on the Orville.

I'm sure the Novaks and Lollars would be great choices - we're probably splitting hairs on this stuff and honestly there are too many variables to come to a definitive answer.

I love my Novak Darkstars ... would have to guess his other pu's would also be awesome. :bassist:

That’s a Fender Jazz Modern Player. Actually a very nice Jazz that I was tempted to buy at one time because of the humbuckers. The other oddball Jazz that IMHO is the best Fender Jazz to come out in the last 20 years is the Blacktop Jazz.

happens here too……wanna listen but they won’t play…
The trick seems to be you have to click on the upper right corner of the YouTube image, then it’ll launch a playable version.
