I was thinking the same thing while at Winters' last night. They have a digital "jukebox". My 1st real job was as a busboy at an Italian resteraunt. I worked my way into being 'second in command' behind a guy who had been there a while. They had a jukebox (w/45 records) in the back serving space. On Sat nights - we would close that section off after the 'crowd' disperesed. (it was a busy place on a Sat night) The busboys still working took turns with 'eating shifts' back there while others covered their stations. We'd order our dinner (after midnight!) and while eating listen to the jukebox. That #1 busboy who was a bit older & I regularly got our 'eating shift' together. While eating, he would always play Neil Diamonds "Solitary Man". As a teen, I looked up to him because he was cool and had it together - a real alpha male. He worked his last day there on a Sat night, and after we ate he jimmy'd the cover of the jukebox with a butter knife, and removed the 45 of Solitary Man. I never forgot that image - I thought that was the coolest - still do.

I think that was his first big hit, not positive though but that's a great tune.

I have to chime in, that's a cool time, good sounds, good bass playing. Not really such bad degradation, and I like what tape does anyway. (Say what you must, tape is unreplaceable as a recording and listening medium).

I'm an analog man all the way, hey I still buy used cassettes! Got a 4 track reel to reel, you name it.

Yes, A-11 refers to a selection on a jukebox. Olivia Newton-John had a song called "Please, mister, please, don't play B-17", another jukebox reference.
Or a WWII bomber.

I saw them as the opening band for the Allman Brothers in the late '70s. The Molly Hatchet audience was really different from the Allman Brothers audience.

So, at the risk of being OffTopic - I was chatting with Donnie @dagrev and we reckon it must be 40 years (early 80s) since we have driven a car with a “3 on the tree” column shift manual gearbox. Further, we reckon a column manual would be an effective car theft deterrent.

Any of you fine folk driving a column manual car? Or have sometime in the last few decades?

I've driven them but not for years, never owned one. The favorite manual I've ever driven was a red '67 Chevy Impala Super Sport, four speed with a 396, belonged to one of my friends who totalled it...of course.

My father is the original owner of a ‘64 Impala SS convertible. Not a 409, just a 327 with a powerglide 2speed auto. I’d love to have had a ‘65 Impala, I like that body style over the ‘64 by far.

“Back in the day” when cars looked at least a little, if not a lot, different every year.

I still like tape much better than digital recording. I did something in Germany during the early 80's in a 24 track studio, they had multiple machines and had 48 track capability with a mobile outside. I saw real flanging done for the first and only time in my life, that was really cool, it was an art. The studio owner was the manager of the Scorpions.
Did a lot of stuff later on in 16 track analog studios. I don't care what anyone says they sound better than digital studios, digital studios are very convenient and you can make a dog sound like Pavarotti but the analog sound is more natural sounding.

I had a '65 two door Impala, powerglide with a 283 years ago. I like '64's too, especially the Super Sports. I had a bunch of Chevy's when I first started driving. I actually drove a 4 speed 283, '65 once, really cool car.

Yes, it was a joke I've been having trouble with a few of the audio posts here. I'm really an analog person I don't have spotify either, do use YouTube and SiriusXM a lot though.

72 here. I use Voltaren. Patch and/or gel. Take a trip to mexico, much more affordable at mex pharmacy.

Used to buy it in Mexico all the time. It was prescription in the US then. Found generics in Europe that were pretty cheap too.

1. How is the size of them compared to the TB+? As in will they drop into a modern Gibson?

2. How easily do the covers come off?

This is a pic of the Lollars in my ‘01. I just measured and the 760’s are the same W x H, but I can only guess they are the same thickness, which is not as thick as the TB+.

I have the pickup as high as I can get it but I may end up using the spacers and rings.

I have some longer cone shaped springs, and some “spring” foams, and that helps keep the pickup stable.

I don’t know about opening them. I haven’t removed any 760’s yet.
