This is a pic of the Lollars in my ‘01. I just measured and the 760’s are the same W x H, but I can only guess they are the same thickness, which is not as thick as the TB+.

I have the pickup as high as I can get it but I may end up using the spacers and rings.

I have some longer cone shaped springs, and some “spring” foams, and that helps keep the pickup stable.

I don’t know about opening them. I haven’t removed any 760’s yet.

The 760 is 0.5" deep. Same as the SD Custom Shop; though, those are not quite as wide as the 760.

About 10 years ago I had a 64 Chevy II nova, inline 6 and 3 on the tree. Sounds like I might be the most recent driver of the old column shift.

Traded that for a 67 international with a 5 speed. First is granny low, fifth is Overdrive.

Currently I have 5 vehicles, and three of them are manuals. Still my preference but I have to search them out.

I miss driving a manual, but I don’t miss it as a daily driver. My last was a ‘91 GMC Jimmy (S10 Blazer), with a 5 speed and 4.3l V6. I had to go out of state to get it as I could not find a 1st gen 2WD S10 with 4.3 and manual. Plan was to put a 350 in it, but my energy to, and space for working on cars went away and I ended up giving it to a friend.

I could be mistaken, but I think my sister had a column shift in her 1956 Ford F100 pickup truck. How she drove that truck I’ll never know, she was all of five feet tall.

I drove an auto 67 Newport with that 383 for a few months about 10 years ago, boy that thing was a boat but serious straight line "whoosh factor"....fun drive, hard to fathom a three on the tree in that....

It's been a while. Maybe two decades? When I started dating Sharon, I had a 66 Econoline with a three on a tree and a 170ci straight six. The pivot point that let you switch from R/1 to 2/3 had broken so you had to stand up and jerk it up into the R/1 set or slam it down into the 2/3 set. She and my roomie's g/f learned to drive standard in that before I could get a replacement steering column. After that, driving any other manual transmission was a piece of cake.

I bought a second E100 when the first one died and kept one running with parts from the other for a little while, but when the second one died I bought a Yamaha XS650E and never looked back (except when I needed to haul gear, which I made the Yammie do, but ...)

Early Thunderbirds had a column shifter.

Yeah, mine could use a belt change, I bought the belts and then looked up the procedure......no thanks. I can do stuff like that but it takes me a LONG time, I double check, the triple check the check again. Pioneer CT-F950, it's a nice one though and still sounds good. Maybe I'll bring it back and ship it to you. :laugh:
