The gold/silver combination of the hardware works great in my opinion!
I've been contemplating to build a silver & gold bass too some day.

Don't believe the nonsense on TB or other places. Even Geddy came around (late in life) and regretted not connecting with Thunderbirds earlier. (Or some such wording.)

Thunderbirds can sound fantastic with things other than bright rounds. I have one with GHS flats and another with LaBella Black tapes. They can can do bright angry piano or thick and thumpy and do them as well as any bass.

But don't let this get out or people will be throwing their Fenders out the window and grabbing Thunderbirds!
