Thunderbird Club

I totally endorse capturing all the activities. Even if it ruffles a few feathers. :smug::)

I'm not wearing feathers, that's where I draw the line, I have (admittedly low) standards!

I get the need for a museum but it's still a shame those instruments can't be played. I mean, they're not like an ancient ruin that could crumble in your hands...
Wouldn’t it be cool if big collectors/museums loaned out the guitars to professional artists for use in studios and safely controlled venue situations. There could be a fee to offset insurance and handling costs and a portion of the proceeds could even go as a contribution to musical institutions that teach guitar. Imagine reading the back story on a given album or soundtrack that listed the collector guitars and basses and mics and drums and keyboards… used to make a given song and a listing of other key players and songs where that gear was used. Now that would be way cool! It would essentially be a living museum.

Sounds like a good business opportunity, find some investors and give it a go!

You go, Gloria Steinem! Burn that bra!

There is a bar/restaurant in Chicago called Berghoffs that was 'men only' up until the late '60s. Possibly an urban myth, but when I lived in Chicago I was told feminists then put big rocks in their bras, spun them around and launched them though its front window.

"The bar, when opened, served men only. It wasn’t until Gloria Steinem and several other members of the National Organization for Women demanded to be served in 1969 that the segregation ended."

Don't knock it until you try it! ;)

Exactly! Lift and separate! :woot:

My friend/tech is building a NR similar to what you are describing (NR body/EB-0 2+2 headstock, single pickup). He is using a mahogany Rosser body for this build. He has bought 6 or so bodies from Rosser and has no complaints, and he is VERY picky.

Awesome! Do you have any pics? Is he getting a paddle head neck and cutting the shape himself? Or does someone make a bolt on Fender pocket 34 inch Gibson headstock neck?

That would be custom - I've never seen one offered. If you went with a paddle hs neck - it would need to be a set-back as all Gibson/Epi's are.

Cat inspection go OK? :D

I'm a sucker for the older style of Peavey.

Wow. That looks pretty nice! It ought to clea up and look almost new. Congratulations Kara!

I replaced the busted 3-prong on the Pacer today, and did a bit of testing....... it's not a bass amp, but I don't currently have a treble guitar, so a ran the CP through it :D

Some of the pots are a bit scratchy, but otherwise it functions excellent, and sounds pretty good

A bit of clean-up on the pots & the exterior, should be the only other things it needs.

imo, great value at $30 & 15 minutes round-trip drive :smug:

Can't beat vintage Peavey :)

I was adjusting the neck, slight plek on the first fret.

Well, I bought it from Aliexpress China: 50% curiosity + 50% hope it would fit without adaptation.
It didn't fit on the IV; I guess must be sanded to fit.
They are shaped differently and the holes are in different places. The Epiphone IV TRC is also wider at the nut end - at least the ones I've made. I believe there are some Epi IVs with a narrower nut, so those TRCs may be different.

He built the necks himself so he made one the 2+2 Gibson style, tilt back headstock. Turns out that neck is going on a double-cut LP style bass build now. He took the NR in a different direction.
