I actually like the looks of the Hipshot better than the three point as long as it fits within the center block, I’ve seen some that hang over, that’s a no go for me. However, the three is perfectly functional and is quicker to set up than the Hipshot so I certainly wouldn’t run out and replace any of my working three points.

Guess I got lucky. My wife insisted that I buy the Dragon Wing Alembic that had just arrived in a guitar store we were at while I was shopping for a PRS bass. One of the best bass purchases I ever made from an investment standpoint. It’s gone up several hundred percent in value since I bought it. She also pushed the Pink Paisley Tele purchase and the DBird purchase and as a complete surprise bought me my Burgundy NR Tbird as a Christmas gift last year. For someone who hasn’t a clue about basses or gear she has a good eye for a great deal. Yep, she’s a keeper.
I love Kylie Minogue! She still looks amazing.

Actually, I think his story is BS. I suspect he bought it (for not much more than he’s selling it for) and didn’t bond with it so he’s flipping it, which is fine, that happens.
I suspect the whole wife thing is a construct to highlight how much the bass could have cost (if you’re a really poor shopper) so he can claim a huge loss and stand firm on his asking price.
Just doesn’t pass the sniff test for me, but who knows, I could be all wrong, in which case his wife should dump him for not being appreciative of her actions.
Still my overall favorite for the Tbird as well.
My Hipshot hangs over ever so slightly on each side. I can live with it. Pic from the seller--which is why it's nice and clear.... Used it yesterday. What a joy with the LaBella Black Nylons.

I put a Hipshot bridge on my Goth because the three point anchors would not stop pulling out (even after being glued and wedged). Fortunately the Goth has a wider center block than any of my other birds, no overhang at all. BTW - I ended up drilling five screw holes through the Hipshot to firmly attach it to the bass body (Fender style) the anchors and large bridge bolts are just there for looks (and grounding) now.

I hear ya. Everything else is an an imposter. Some may indeed function better, but none, and mean none, look better than The Claw! The Claw demands respect.
