Thunderbird Club

Thinking about a suitable case for an NRBird.

At the moment the simplest option would appear to be a standard Epi Bird case and cutting new polystyrene for the body section. The faux-fur may even be able to be reused, depending on how it's attached to the existing cutout. Anyone have experience doing this or similar?

The ABS hardshell case I have is 120cm x 35cm internal, which is too short for a Bird (hence my earlier query about the dimensions of the EB3). I struggled to find anything that long when I was looking for a case, so not optimistic about finding anything else Bird-length.

Heck, it's a reverse bird - Just put it in a regular Tbird case face down!
There, that was easy! ;):D

I use my morning coffee cup for my evening Guiness.

It's a haole. A pretty haole, but a haole nontheless. Lol.
Dunno what that is, either.

Also that is efficient. I wish I could still drink Guiness.

Asked my wife, the Chicky is Kendall Jenner.
Ah, I see.

So she's wearing a band's shirt yet doesn't like metal. Weird.

Yup, the only non-disproportionate Kardashian.
Because she's not genetically related to the rest of 'em so much, perhaps? Gotta wonder whether there's anybody in there, though. So, I take back my previous comments about her getting around to marrying a bass player. If she's a Kardashian, she will marry several guys, all of them wealthy and with questionable ego control, and perhaps several at a time. And then she will decide she's really a Hawaiian, get really round, and learn to sound like Israel Kamakawiwoʻole and leave the whole Kardashian nonsense behind. Then the Count won't think of her as a Haole any more. She would really like that, because she knows that she would be better off with a Thunderbird player, but she will never achieve that, due to her unfortunate genesis.

The poor young lady is doomed to a bassless life. I feel really bad for her.

Pretty sure that Rob (the guy that wrote the new Gibson bass book) reworked an Epi case to fit a NR. He was able to reuse the fur as well I believe. I tried to find the old thread about it at the Bass Outpost but could not find it. FWIW, the case for my Epi NR does not fit my Bach NR because the Bach is too long. Carlo is probably a good person to ask about what case would fit NR's and which don't.

You use your phone as a pedal? :wideyed:
Kinda sorta. I pick the toneprint effect on the phone app, hold it over bass pickups (and bass is plugged into amp) and faster than you can say "Scotty, two to beam up," the chosen effect is active on my amp. I can then use amp control to dial in the desired level of said effect. But you probably knew that, didn't you (and now I seem like more of a dolt for explaining)?:banghead:

I have not tried using the computer to access/load their effects. There might be more options there, as I still can't find SCF on the phone app. It tends to list a ton of artists and their "cute" little nicknames for their blend of chorus or other effects. Darn it. I might actually have to go back and read the instruction manual.

Go into the app, go to "By Product", go to "Corona Chorus", scroll down almost to the bottom, look for "Multiple Toneprints by TC Electronics "

third option > fifth option

Thanks! You know how the top menu lists: "all", "guitar" and "bass" (I don't see it on the image @kat888 was nice enough to post). The SCF option doesn't show up under bass, which is the menu option that I was searching under.

On the apps menu of pedals, there is an option titled: "bass amps". And the SCF setting is not listed there, when I look at the multiple/combined effects available. So, I am guessing that I couldn't get it to work on the amp now that I found it. Nevertheless, this is a really cool toy.

I don't want to bother Carlo, as he will need to concentrate on *building* the NRBird.

Using the software on a puter gives you the option of editing all the parameters of the effect, including stuff like assigning what the knobd control. It's really pretty dang slick, and they sound good.

My peddlebored currently goes G30 receiver > TCE Polytune > TCE Spectra Comp > MXR M85 Bass Distortion. I have room for one more, and it's gonna be one of those two.
